A frozen Leeds/Liverpool canal, as seen from Rimrose Valley Country Park, along it's Waterloo/Litherland border stretch. Eventually, I got sooooo cold that I couldn't even feel my camera ... really ... my fingers finished up completely, utterly and totally numb.

Peering out towards deeper water between large sheets of ice, I got a small sense of how long it must for warmth to penetrate Lake Superior. I loved the intense colors and sense of mystery, too. Bayfield, Wisconsin on March 12, 2016.

We had a wicked ice storm in Oklahoma this year. Perfect for picture taking with two exceptions: bad roads and no sunshine. Thankfully, the clouds cleared for a few hours between ice storms to risk life and limb for a few 'glass forest' type of pictures.
Don't you just love the way hobby photography turns disasters into photo-ops? I think it is starting to make me more optimistic somehow!
