With snow forecast for tomorrow - it seemed sensible to post a shot of the last time I went in search of snow up on Kinder Scout. I'm thinking of heading over to Swine's Back tomorrow afternoon/evening in the hope of catching the best of the snow in the Peak again... if anyone fancies a trip out, in spite of the forecast wind... do let me know!...

Really cold weather lately, not safe to stay out for long. Battery resellers must be doing ok round now with this cold. Lots of stalling and boosting going on.
This portion of the Canmore Nordic Centre at the boundary to Banff National Park has been closed since last summer. It was a bit of a shock to see it so opened up, but the forest has been cleared out for a fire break. One bonus is the extended views and additional ski/bike trails that have been added to the area. We will certainly be exploring them.
The group of trees about an hour before the previously uploaded photo in my stream (go back about 5 shots) taken when the sun had come out.

Part of the enduring appeal of snowflakes is their intricate appearance and near infinite variation, meaning that all snowflakes are unique. The number of possibilities of nuances in temperature and humidity as the snowflake falls to the ground is limitless.
If you look closely at a Snowflake you will see countless individual features, all having formed ever so slightly differently in direction or shape owing to the slightest change in the environment in which it formed.
