Even though we've had more blue skies than rain this month, the wind and temperatures have been cold, and last weekend we even had snow. This is from when it was melting again the same day.

My album of nice bokeh here.

I climbed all the way up here only to find a cold wet eagle. So I took this picture and went back down to where it was warm and dry.

On a cold December evening, Union Pacific 580 sits staged at the Truckee Snow Headquarters. During the winter months, Truckee Snow HQ coordinates snow fighting operations along the Donner Pass Route. With a winter storm on the approach, it would not take long for the flangers to be called to action.

Capturing some of the thousands of icicles hanging on a seaside fence after the blizzard. Crashing waves in sub-zero temps caused the salt water to freeze on contact.

This is the view of Cold Lake from the summit of Curtis Gilbert Peak in the Goat Rocks

We've had a couple of snowy spells but today it's just been confined to the hills leaving the bitter cold air to hang elsewhere brrrr! This is a view looking over some of Sheffield City centre.

Detras de la Pampilla de Coquimbo (Chile) se encuentra este tipo de paisaje, con fuertes olas, nubes por todos lados, un poco de frio y por sobretodo hermoso!

Cold, cold water surrounds me now

And all I've got is your hand

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Or am I lost?

Love one's daughter

Allow me that

And I can't let go of your hand

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Or am I lost?

Cold, cold water surrounds me now

And all I've got is your hand

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Lord, can you hear me now?

Or am I lost?

8-Image stitch - Lake Louise

Lake Louise is one of those spots where it is a bit of a challenge to photograph without ending up with a typical "tourist" shot. So I keep on trying :-)

Awoke to a foggy frosty morning , one of those lovely crisp cold days. So had a little walk along the riverside and took some photos.

On my recent long drive to Scotland from Plymouth I stopped off in the Yorkshire Dales. I arrived the day after some heavy snowfall, Unfortunately it was now raining and the snow was fast disappearing. There was also a strong cold wind blowing, not ideal conditions. Not knowing the area didn't help but I soon found some nice isolated trees on a small Limestone outcrop. Then it was back to the pub to de-frost in front of the log fire with a pint or two.

Thanks to the owner of the Railway Inn at Ribbendale for kindly letting me park/sleep overnight in the car park :-)

A great start to my four week adventure.

Remembering the cold of England.

Målselv is known for its cold weather in the winter. Today it was -22C (-8 F) down in the valley
