It was -30 that January morning (last year). You can hear the snow compress under someone's shoe a mile away. Stopped to get a shot of the frozen tugboat up the river and discovered they were running a marathon along the Mississippi. Cars barely start in this weather but it didn't seem to deter the runners that morning.

My first attempt at cold-brewing coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, so hopefully the coffee drinker in the family will like it...cuz it's all his...all 128 ounces of it!
Just downriver of Tamawanas Falls. This was one of the few photos from this trip that actually came out. I shot most of it on Ektar film, but unbeknownst to me my F4's mirror was malfunctioning and only exposed a portion of the frame on most shots. Since I was planning to document most of the trip on film I rarely got my digital camera out, except for shots that I deemed important enough that I wanted a backup.
Ironically, these were also almost all the frames that my film camera exposed correctly.
Oh well, at least I got the good ones
