Since the information in English said that the trail reflects the Heart Sutra, one of the most beloved of the Buddha's teachings, I assume that these plaques have the words of the Heart Sutra on it. The Heart Sutra tells about how everything is interconnected and impermanent. The tourist in the picture is my husband.
Part of the Heart Sutra: "Form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So too are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness."

I had my Animal Cognition exam this morning, which I bombed. One of my contrast-question answers began with, "Honestly, I have no idea what the difference between these two models is." Yep, that went well.
In Behavioral Endocrinology we learned about a study that showed that heterosexuals have longer index fingers and homosexuals have longer ring fingers. I have a long ring finger; science says I must be a secret-lesbian. OH NO. (I said this out loud to Kimia and the boy in front of me apparently heard me because he started cracking up. Whoops.)
Thanks to knee pain I skipped the 'workout' and did a 30 minute 'run' on Gilman, which actually hurt a fair bit. At least Craig seems to have some idea of what he's doing, I'm getting stim and ultrasound now! WHOA!

Tag 89: Desillusionierter Weihnachtsmann.
Eine Kreatur des Kommerz. Das hat sich irgendwann gerächt, wie ich an seinem Gesichtsausdruck erkenne. Erkenntnis: Der Weihnachtsman kann niemals das Christkind ersetzen.
Day 89: Disillusioned Santa Claus.
A creature of commerce. This took anytime revenge on him, how I can see on his facial expression. Cognition: Santa Claus could never replace the Christ Child.

Dirk Adams
the sensation of moving slowly back in time
Dirk Adams creates work in a variety of media including performance, sound, installation, and video. His work is concerned with language, memory, and culture, and frequently investigates current events, popular culture, and politics.
the sensation of moving slowly back in time is a presentation of objects, materials, and tools that have been created over the past four years in his yarden (yard/garden). The installation and performances in this show represent a point in his explorations of physical processes of materials and investigations into human consciousness, the slow mutative processes of evolution, and notions of meaning-making as they relate to cultural production and the idea of humans as brains in bodies in environments, which comes out of the field of embodied cognition.
