I'm stumped. I'm completely at a loss for good photos, because every single day here in Chicago, it is FREEZING cold, snowy, slushy and essentially unwalk-able (at least for a singer trying to stay somewhat healthy and warm-ish!) Leaving the theater tonight, it was a bit warmer and snowing in the most beautiful, soft, symphonic way - but I was too busy dodging 4-inch puddles of mush everywhere to take out my camera and capture the fogged in city. So tonight I came home a made a cup of my MOST favorite tea (not plugging here, but how GREAT is this Aveda tea?!?! ), and while the photo may seem uninspired or poorly composed, I was too eager to actually drink it, (and yes, slightly sulky that I am not getting the opportunity to take photos like I did in Barcelona!), that I snapped it, and soaked up the goodness of a hot cup of tea on a cold, blustery evening. It was perfection.
I love waking up early in the morning to read the Word of God. And the perfect companion for this is a mug of hot coffee.

Mary and I each bought handcrafted mugs at the manatee festival we attended earlier this month. This one's mine. It is somewhat unusual in that it's been twice fired, which is why the glaze has melted down the sides. View with eyes crossed, relaxing your gaze while focusing on the "center" image.

This is the result of our White Elephant gift exchange with my team at work. I'm glad no one decided to take it from me since I'm the world's worst caffeine addict. There was a pound of coffee beans included.
I began photographing cicadas in Summer 2004 and became a Flickr Contact with fellow cicada fan DanCentury in July 2012. I found this mug at my local (Dayton, OH) Goodwill on 1/4/13. On 3/25/13 I noticed www.cicadamania.com via DanCentury's profile, and was quite surprised to discover where my Goodwill find had originated. Very cool. :-)
