No it's not real, just bit of fun with photoshop. A Canon 580 flash off camera right and a 460 to the left, both with diffusers and set high enough to light the inside of the mug and also to cast the shadows in the right place to add to the realism. Explore Jan 2 #91.
A nice mug of coffee accompanied by, okay, two little chocolate biscuits!! Honestly!!

Eats, Shoots and Leaves. A funny book about punctuation and grammar! Whaat?
I know this book has been out for a while now, but it's one I've been wanting (and NEEDING) to read and just never got around to. Since I have been on Flickr, I have become very aware of my mis-use and abuse of punctuation, grammar, exclamation points, emoticons, etc.
So hopefully, this book will help me! ;-) (See what I mean?)
The book really IS funny - I love the wry British wit of the author, Lynne Truss. She makes learning about punctuation fun!
The cool coffee mug is new, too. I saw one by this artist on Texas To Mexico's photostream www.flickr.com/photos/7930204@N04/2288010112/ and just had to have one - or two. I found them online and ordered two different designs - I really like the bright colors!
I'll come running.
Two years ago, I became a mom for the second time.
Hopefully I'll get some of the birthday boy. It's only right given it's his day.

I love spices both savory and sweet. These are all the sweet spices for coffee, tea, and desserts... They are the "Best for the Holidays..."
On Sunday, I was getting into the spirit of Hanukkah which began that afternoon at sundown.
Now it's yesterday afternoon, Lol.

Forget all the vintage vinyl pics...how many people still have an original Pants Place bag and coffee mug from the '80's? Best.Store.Ever. RIP.
Speaking of shopping...Did you know there was a Flickr group for swapping clothes and shoes? What will these crazy kids think of next? ;)
Today is National Smile Day. One thing that makes me smile is my morning coffee on the back deck. Pictured is one of my favorite mugs given to me by my youngest son. He always makes me laugh. I am pretty sure his brothers would not agree with the message on the cup though.
Plastic, plastic, plastic. I've actually kept quite a lot, but the really orangey melanin stuff. Will be great for the boat or the camping wagon I still think I'll have one day :) This green service that you see parts of here came with a great suitcase but it was half rotten so I threw it away. I love how the coffee plates have really big holes so that the coffeemug will sit steadily in your knee in the boat or in the car. This is my childhood, every family had them.
This picture pertains to my set "Things I've sold" and are pics that I put out on Tradera (Swedish e-Bay) about five years ago. I just found these pictures hidden away on my computer and realised suddenly what a great documentary they are for me, in that I used to be an avid collector of 50s-70s stuff and have great memories of most of the stuff I sold. Some I regret selling, but most I realised I had to let go since I for many reasons wanted a fresh start. And things do hold you down.
This is the coolest mug. A good friend got me this as a gift (thanks Dawn! *hugs!* Love ya!) Basically, it's a plain black space-themed mug with no invaders...when it's at room temperature. When you add hot liquid, invaders appear! As above. I had just poured a bunch of hot water in and the invaders appeared, how cool is that?! I'm such a geek. ^_^

This is a sign made of old metal that my friend got me as a house-warming gift almost 3 years ago. There was another sign (will make an appearance soon) and two tin stars.
I don't know why it took me this long to use this in a self-portrait!
Henri also gave me permission to post this photo to my Flickr Photostream. I wanted to show an example of his own "photo eye" and skill as a photographer. I chose this photo not only because it is a great capture with a beautiful bokeh and a perfect use of depth of field, but also because it is such a cute shot.
Thanks, Henri, for allowing me to post all three of your photos to my Flickr page. :)

This mug is a few years old now, but it's still my favorite. "Mugs with words".. "Smile on Saturday".
I've been wanting to tackle this project for a while now. When Scott moved in, he brought with a collection of origami butterflies ripe for displaying.
Sadly though, it wasn't meant to be. We would have needed a few hundred butterflies more to actually bring the vision to life.
So back to the drawing board for how to showcase the butterflies. I'll figure it out someday, or Scott will recycle them... whichever comes first.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Happy Halloween! Today was a very busy day both at work in the morning and preparing for Halloween Dinner in the afternoon… coffee was definitely my friend today.
We don't have many children in this mountain community, so trick or treating does not really happen up here... instead we cooked dinner for my parents and had a great evening together. On the menu: Pumpkin ravioli (10/10 recipe!!) and a caramel apple cheesecake (9.5/10).
Hope everyone had a very safe and fun Halloween!

After a good long walk this morning and returning home I had a lovely warm mug of coffee, to warm myself up, and a lovely Belgium Bun .... of course, I only had one!!
