Quite a number of years ago, Donna and I stopped in the town of New Bremen on our way back from a visit to Detroit. It’s a charming little town, made even more so because it’s the home of Crown Forklift. Within a very short walk was a bicycle museum, a great restaurant and the Crown Store. It’s the structure shown on this mug. Also, a small part of the original Ohio Canal is nearby.

Apparently this used to be a burger chain in Texas. I couldn't tell you if they still exist or not, but I thought the mug was kinda neat. I found four of them in one vendor stall in an antique mall, and almost bought one there, but I decided to look around a little more instead of carrying a breakable mug around with me, and a few booths later I found this solitary one. The original vendor was asking $8.00 ea, and this one ended up costing me $2.80... yeah... my weekend 'score'... LOL

Photo A Day: December 2
Peace has so many meanings.... One of my definitions of peace is sitting at home on a Sunday morning, with the sunlight streaming in my windows and a hot cup of coffee steaming on my coffee table, ready to drink. It's pretty much the only day I don't rush around in the morning. Relaxing at home is my peace.
Another one of my strobist output. I used 2 flashes one off camera left hand side n the other mounted it on top of the camera and bounced it wit a golden card to give the golen warm feel. Ran the raw file in LR to boost the color n make it pop :) Enjoy ur coffee.

Today, this empty mug was the only thing that resembled normalcy.
I reported to jury duty.
I'm not used to a set schedule.
But I had my coffee.

(Polyethylene terephthalate, the "G" is the 3D printing co-polymer...) Taken in Albany, CA by a Nikon D610 at ISO 1600 with a Micro-Nikkor 105mm ƒ 2.8 AF-D lens (NOT the AF-S!)
Well, he did!! Thanks to Lewis this actually helped me for yesterday's Challenge (shot today, my goodness, I missed yesterday - apologies Garth!!) My wife had just made a couple of coffees and I was asking her to help me - my idea was to have her drop a few sugar cubes into the coffee and drag the mug at the same time! Lewis, had a better idea he was playing with this little bouncy ball (yes, that orange flash) and I liked what happened ~ a dropped bouncing ball and a dragging latte!! Could be better but hey this wasn't planned !!

One of my favorites in my coffee mug collection. This one comes from my 2006 visit to WinteRail in Stockton, CA. It was tagged with a label that said it was an Amtrak coffee cup from back in the 1970s on their long distance trains. It has a Homer Laughlin Best China ink stamp on the bottom, which makes it seem to be the real deal.
Regardless if true or not, I like the coffee cup and it is in my regular rotation in the studio. It was the vessel for today's pot of Komodo Dragon Blend.
