The Cock Beck flooded the roadway just on the outskirts of the village, perhaps 5-6ft above the normal level of the watercourse. The whole area was backed up as the river joins the Wharfe at Tadcaster.
The merry and frolicsome Cocker Spaniel, with his big, dreamy eyes and impish personality, is one of the world's best-loved breeds. They were developed as hunting dogs, but Cockers gained their wide popularity as all-around companions.
Tall to 500mm, very common thoroughout the Oberon Water Reserve woodland.

Noisy and gregarious, these cheerful exploiters of man's rubbish and wastefulness, have managed to colonise most of the world. Sadly, monitoring suggests a severe decline in the UK house sparrow population, recently estimated as dropping by 71% between 1977 and 2008, with substantial declines in both rural and urban populations.
This ring-necked pheasant cock is proclaiming is patch of the prairie grass. Unfortunately for him, I don't see any hens in sight.
Here, he's at the peak of his crow and closes his eyes. I got several shots like this, it's followed by his mouth closing and his eyes opening.
