I was set up and hoping for a flight shot when this Burrowing Owl took up a comical pose that I couldn’t resist. (Athene cunicularia) (Sony a1, 200-600 lens @ 506mm, 1/3200 second, f/6.3, ISO 3200)

MELBA est une superbe COCKER grise et noire. Elle n'aime pas ce DRONE qui lui vole sur la tête et elle tente de l'attraper...

A fine looking dog . . . and figurine!

The common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), ring-necked pheasant, or blue-headed pheasant, is a bird in the pheasant family (Phasianidae). The genus name comes from Latin phasianus 'pheasant'. The species name colchicus is Latin for 'of Colchis' (modern day Georgia), a country on the Black Sea where pheasants became known to Europeans.Although Phasianus was previously thought to be closely related to the genus Gallus, the genus of junglefowl and domesticated chickens, recent studies show that they are in different subfamilies, having diverged over 20 million years ago.

It is native to Asia, where it is widespread, and also the extreme southeast of Europe in the northern foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. It has been widely introduced elsewhere as a game bird. In parts of its range, mainly in places where none of its relatives occur such as in Europe, where it is naturalised, it is simply known as the "pheasant". Ring-necked pheasant is both the collective name for a number of subspecies and their intergrades that have white neck rings, and the name used for the species as a whole in North America.

It is a well-known gamebird, among those of more than regional importance perhaps the most widespread and ancient one in the whole world. The common pheasant is one of the world's most hunted birds;[5] it has been introduced for that purpose to many regions, and is also common on game farms where it is commercially bred. The ring-necked subspecies group in particular are commonly bred and were introduced to many parts of the world; the game farm stock, though no distinct breeds have been developed yet, can be considered semi-domesticated. The ring-necked pheasant is the state bird of South Dakota, one of only two US state birds that is not a species native to the United States.

From some angles, these two rock formations in Halong Bay, Vietnam can look like two chickens facing each other so they call them the fighting cocks. Unfortunately, cock fighting is still practiced in Vietnam as a betting sport.

In some unreal twisted realm of life, I was able to meet Jarvis Cocker tonight (mainly because of my friend Leigh.) I talked to him for a couple of hours about books and music and then I had to ask.

"I really don't want to ruin this but I have to tell you something about me. Oops I just touched your arm I'm so sorry. Anyhow, you write these incredible lyrics and I'm sure that's how you'll remember your life someday but for me I take pictures and I'm just so afraid this didn't really happen and I'll have no way of remembering when I have senile dementia someday or just bang my head hard or in some way and completely forget who I am. And that's why I can't stop taking pictures...because for me, I know this will happen and I need to find a way to remind myself of all the experiences I had in life and who I really was.

So, could I maybe take your picture so that I can remember it?

Because I mean, I had this great dream I was taking photos of Leonard Cohen and that the Arcade Fire was playing in my living room and turns out that never happened. I want to know this really happened."

okay i was on the highway and this random car is going by and i notice their holding up a sign that says cock.... so of course i had to take a picture! it was the ultimate kodak moment!

I swear that's its name! I didn't make it up...

Since I desperately need cuddles and can't even hug a teddy bear without being told off, Mandarine, my cheeky friend, decided to cheer me up with a cuddle bondage cock. Now, this is what I call a friend :D

And at least, this one won't run away >:)

The English Cocker spaniel is a highly energetic intelligent and friendly dog. Sometimes known as the "merry Cocker" due to a constantly wagging tail & happy nature. Cockers are often seen with their nose to the ground and tail in the air zig zagging from one sniff to another.

Cocker morning walk

its really a rock.

Actually, it's my son's cock, but I have to take care of it, lol. He was raised since he was a child, and now he looks like this, handsome!

.

Na verdade, é um galo de meu filho, mas eu quem tenho que cuidar, rs. Ele foi criado desde pequeno, e agora está assim, bonito!

Strutting his stuff by the Long Walk at Arley Hall, Cheshire. There was a shoot going on over the fields and there were Pheasants everywhere, poor things, never seen so many.

My Spaniel no longer a puppy but grown into an adult dog

A very familiar gamebird, the pheasant is large and colourful, and has a long tail. Common in farmland and woodland throughout the UK, the males' loud, sharp, croaking call can be heard resonating through the countryside before the bird is actually seen. Pheasants eat seeds, berries, leaves and insects; they roost in trees and can form flocks in winter. During the breeding season, one male may mate with many females, who then raise the chicks alone.

Safe to roam about again now the shooting season is over
