A Cockroach in Walpole Nornalup NP (Western Australia, nov. 2008)

A large Cockroach, I often joke that they're as big as shrimp. Capable of flight. Commonly referred to as Water Bugs. They eat like hogs and have a bad odor. To an untrained eye, their fecal material is often mistaken for mouse droppings.

Not sure exactly wtf happened during bottling that allowed this to happen.

When I popped open the first beer of my first batch I was shocked to find a

dead cockroach. The brew still tasted alright, though, so I'm trying not to

think of it as a bad omen. Kannan snapped this photo for me.

Supplies for making cockroach clusters:

Cockroach Body Parts*

Chocolate Almond Bark or tempered chocolate for dipping candy

Large Bowl

Parchment Paper

*I use "shoestring style" potato chips because they give the best look and crunch to the final product. You can, however, use thin pretzels or chow mein noodles. These substitutes will be sufficient but I find that the crunch isn't as distinctly disturbing as that of potato chip sticks.

Yes, they might outlive us all.

On Election Day, a vote for either Obama or Romney is a vote for Wall Street criminals to go unpunished, and for working people to go under the wheels. Only a voter rebellion will put fear and trembling in the hearts of career politicians. Political liberty includes our right to fight fair and square against the Democratic and Republican parties, against a system that puts profits before people, and against corporations that are burning down the planet. The militarism of the United States is not an accidental side effect of this corporate regime, but the necessary consequence of the collision of corporate spheres of influence beyond all national borders.

It was in a media make-up tent. She didn't want to be made up to look like she'd had a horrible accident. I didn't want to go near the cockroach!

Nymph. Too tough to identify.

The Deceiver Fly is a classic saltwater baitfish streamer popularized by Lefty Kreh has caught fish for years and continues to produce all around the world. This Black Deceiver fly is a muti-purpose baitfish pattern that has proven effective on almost any saltwater species. Several colors and sizes should be in every fly box even for those anglers going after some of the more predatory freshwater species.
