This was amazing. There is also a movie so that you too can be amazed by how fast this action was happening ;-) www.flickr.com/photos/zosterops/5354216608/

At first we thought we were seeing one of our big cockroaches running at its normal fast pace. We then noticed the wasp and thought that there was a battle going on....cockroach running like mad and wasp on it. Then there was a pause, and we realised that the cockroach was completely immobilised and the wasp was pulling this gigantic creature at a rate of knots with no help.

I'm not sure if we disturbed it, or it just needed a rest, but the wasp flew off a short distance then came back, latched its hind feet over that big first head segment bit (I'm sure has a name) and took off again. Amazing. We saw a repeat performance a day later on the other side of the park.

By the way...I have no idea where Montumana is, and have never heard of it, but I have placed it in the correct location on the map...

One of my insect pets, meet the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach! Read more about this interesting yet misunderstood insect on this web site:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madagascar_hissing_cockroach

In nature, American cockroaches are decomposers that feed on decaying organic material. Here is an adult female (note the egg case) and a nymph feeding on a rat carcass. For more information: www.nysipm.cornell.edu/whats_bugging_you/cockroaches/defa...

Madagascar hissing cockroaches hiss by exhaling air through breathing holes, a unique trait among insects.

Part of an exhibition curated by Red Bird at Galway Arts Centre. Would you hold it?

American cockroach droppings are about the same size and shape as mouse droppings. However, American cockroach droppings have blunt ends, contain no fur, and have ridges that run from end to end.

Native cockroach, City Beach Perth WA. The two horns at the back are called cerici and used to sense what is happening around them. It senses both sound and smell. Thanks to Jean Hort for providing the information.

There was a big fight in our bathroom between this critter and a huge spider. The spider left, the roach is missing the lower part of it's hind leg.

The yellow stripes along the front edge of the wings indicate this is an Australian Cockroach, Periplaneta australasiae, not an American Cockroach as one might think at first glance. Mission, Texas, September 28, 2018.

Professor Emeritus Robert Kimbrough / Lecturer / Teacher / Author / Authorite has proved and demonstrated that he is the very manifestation and embodiment of "The Bloody Racist Nigger" that the Third World Writer Chinua Achebe is writing about.

I take exception the the demarcation and division and segregation of the World into First World and Second World and Third-World when any blind fool knows that there is ONLY ONE WORLD.

So it is very accurate and fair and realistic to see and despise Kimbrough as a Racist Slave-Driver because, he, in the year 2000 is using and preaching the hate-filled language of his Prophets and Elders and Scribes and Dictators and their books and learning and is brain-washing others with that venomous poison.

I am so fortunate to never have had any preacher, teacher, lecturer, professor, who used the term and justified the term and the usage of the term: THE THIRD-WORLD and THIRD-WORLD PEOPLE, and THIRD-WORLD NATIONS, THIRD-WORLD COUNTRIES, AND THIRD-WORLD CONTINENTS and THIRD-WORLD RACES and THIRD-WORLD-TRIBES.

It is very fitting and deserving that he be shamed with the Noun, COCKROACH, A Bloody Racist Cockroach. This kind of Brain-washing is inexcusable and intolerable and uncivilized for it is hateful and Barbaric and Brutish.

Yet this kind of racist demeaning and degrading labeling and segregation is is the same foul-breath and breadth as those Lobbying American Politicians who preach to their Brothers and Sisters and Brethren about "People from Shit-Hole Countries" and "Shit-Hole-People" (President Donald Trump).

Our new house has many cockroaches. And we sleep on the flor, so the distance with them is close. Someday I got up in the mid night, because they pick my hair, then we decided fight with them. We bought a medicine that friend told us. It was for a human vulnerary, it was mixed with egg. So it seems good for health, we afraid that effective but we tryed to put it. In this few days I saw some returning them on the flor so the pesticide seems effected against them. Our next charenge is the attack to ants!

Florida woods cockroach or palmetto bug (Eurycotis floridana) NOT the home invading winged menace American Cockroach (actually from Africa). Also, Psychotria nervosa with berries, a big woody Vitis rotundifolia vine in the back, and a native Eurycotis floridana on a Chrysobalanus icaco leaf. Delighting in our little home wilderness restoration.

If a small grouping of cockroaches decides ahead live beneath your top, they do this for a good reason. And you also probably already know just what in which reason will be; food. The thing a roach fears greater than the bottom of one's shoe is too little food and also water.Prime Business Centre - Jumeirah Village Circle UAE Tell #: 044539780 / +971 55 112 4624 Click herebit.ly/2nzuImN

Andy caught this beefy fucker in the Benthouse.

I haven't quite figured out why these were exhibited in an aquarium, or anywhere else for that matter. They were HUGE! Maybe 4-6".

A rather large one... However, the geckos, probably about the same length as the cockroach, were able to shout it away :-)
