There are only two kinds of cockroach that usually found in United Kingdom. However, the damage that they do are same. If you ever tried to kill them within your property then, you see them again. Perhaps you need to know about them more before you can completely eradicate them.
We got two adult Madagascar hissing cockroaches for pets today. The kids were so excited! I took them out and put them on the Elmo so they could all see them on the smartboard. This does nothing to show scale. These bugs are longer than my finger. And they really do hiss when you touch them. So cool!
At least it would be a step up from our current president. Seriously though any coincidence that he's from Texas where cockroaches flourish.
I do not want to know what they are eating inside :)

The Madagascar hissing Cockroach (Gromphadorhina portentosa), also known as the Hissing Cockroach or simply Hisser, is one of the largest species of cockroach, reaching 2 to 3 inches at maturity. They are from the island of Madagascar off the African coast, where they can be found in rotting logs.
Unlike most cockroaches, they are wingless. They are excellent climbers and can scale smooth glass. Males can be distinguished from females by their thicker, hairier antennae and the pronounced "horns" on the pronotum. Females carry the ootheca (egg case) internally, and release the young nymphs only after the eggs have hatched. As in some other wood roaches, the parents and offspring will commonly remain in close physical contact for extended periods of time. In captivity, these insects can live 5 years. They feed primarily on vegetable material.
Cockroach infestation refers to the presence of an abnormally high number of cockroaches in a particular area, typically homes or buildings. These resilient pests can cause health risks, contaminate food, and create an unsanitary living environment.
With one intruded cockroach I was lucky to flush it down the toilet...
Unfortunately it looked like it came back with support of 4 pals and/or gals and tried to occupy my bathroom. They did not know me and my guerrilla tactics... Only one left in the morning...
Now going over to chemical warfare. Bye bye guys!
A Madagascan Hissing Cockroach (Giant). They go out of focus when they feel threatened. Or is it sexy? I can't remember now, but since that's my hand touching it I think we can all guess which is most likely.
Zoo Lab brought various animals and insects to have a nosey at, this little cockroach had a fight with his mrs and she chewed off half his antena, poor little guy!
Gromphadorhina portentosa (Blaberidae) Distribution: Madagascar.
Habitat: Tropical lowland forest floor, hiding in leaf litter and rotting logs.
Appearance: Dark brown exoskeleton, no wings, foot pads and hooks to climb smooth surfaces. Females have larger, heavier bodies.
Males sport horns. They are one of the largest cockroach species in the world (5–7.5 cm long and weighing up to 25 gm).
Diet: Nocturnal scavengers of decaying plant material, small insects and animal carcasses.
Reproduction and Development: Mating occurs year around. The male hisses during courtship by constricting its abdomen to expel air through breathing holes (spiracles), producing both calling and courtship sounds. Females carry 15–40 eggs internally, then bear live young. Nymphs molt their exoskeleton as they grow, reaching sexual maturity in 7 months.
Mortality/Longevity: Likely predators include large spiders, tenrecs, and birds. When disturbed, both sexes sound an alarm hiss to startle predators. Can live up to 5 years.

The Giant Tropical Cockroach is one of 4000 species of cockroaches alive today, only about 20 of which are commonly found as household pests. As scavengers, cockroaches serve as very important nutrient recyclers in many habitats.
