- www.kevin-palmer.com - Just a short climb from my campsite was this scenic view looking northeast. The cliffs turned to gold before the sun set.
Thousand Islands, New York or Ontario (?) -- it was hard to tell which island belonged to which country on this tour unless a national flag was flying. Beautiful area to see.

Mined for lime stone for the cement works in the 1800's the quarry is about 16m deep and shows the remains of an ancient sea bed.
Vermilion Cliffs at Moonrise: Named for obvious reasons, here is what Wikipedia has to say about their extraordinary colors: "The Vermilion Cliffs are made up of deposited silt and desert dunes, cemented by infiltrated carbonates and intensely colored by red iron oxide and other minerals, particularly bluish manganese." The Vermilion Cliffs, located in northern Arizona, are part of the Colorado Plateau and known as the second step of the Grand Staircase. October 2015
Looking towards the Otter Cliffs region from Bar Harbor area in Acadia National Park.
This was captured shortly after sunup with the waves crashing against the shoreline in the distance.
I used a .9 ND Grad angled with the treeline into the water to balance the light coming in from the left of the frame, also a circular Polarizer to tone the water and sky.
In hindset I wish for a faster shutter speed to better display the crashing waves against the shoreline.

BUNDA CLIFFS (NULLARBOR COASTAL CLIFFS) RUN FOR APROX. 100KM,S ALONG THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BIGHT IN THE WESTERN PART OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA
This is an RSPB reserve on the Yorkshire coast. There is a viewing platform on the top of the cliffs above the natural arch from where you can see all the sea birds roosting on the cliffs. We spent a happy half hour or so just watching them flying back and forth out to sea. Best viewed large on black.
