The Cliffs of Moher are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare. They rise 120 metres (390 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head, and reach their maximum height of 214 metres (702 ft) just north of O'Brien's Tower, eight kilometres to the north.
British singer and actor Sir Cliff Richard (1940) burst onto the Rock 'n Roll world in 1958 with his hit single Move It.
Cliff Richard was then known as Britain's answer to Elvis Presley. With his backing band The Shadows, Richard dominated the British popular music scene in the late 1950's and early 1960's, till the The Beatles took over. Living Doll (1958) was the first of his fourteen #1 singles in the UK. In 1964 he announced his conversion to Christianity. He never married and claims to have observed a celibate lifestyle since then. His conversion and the subsequent softening of his music led to his having more of a pop than a rock image. He represented the United Kingdom in The Eurovision Song Contest in 1968 with Congratulations and in 1973 with Power to all our friends.
Cliff Richard’s first film was Serious Charge (1959, Terence Young) followed by Expresso Bongo (1959, Val Guest), The Young Ones (1961, Sidney J. Furie) and Summer Holiday (1963, Peter Yates). These movies created their own genre known as the ‘Cliff Richard musical’ and he was the number one cinema box office attraction in Britain for both 1962 and 1963. His next film, Wonderful Life (1964, Sidney J. Furie) was not as succesful as his other teen musicals. His first straight acting role took place in Two a Penny (1968, James F. Collier), in which he played a young man who gets involved in drug dealing while questioning his life after his girlfriend changes her attitude. His other films were Finders Keepers (1966, Sidney Hayers) and Take Me High (1973, David Askey). Although his film career halted, Richard has always remained a popular music and television personality. During the six decades in which he has been active, he has reportedly sold over 250 million records.

The Algarve ( from Arabic: الغرب, trans. Al-Gharb, meaning "The West") is the southernmost region of mainland Portugal. It has an area of 5,412 square kilometres (2,090 sq mi) with approximately 451,005 permanent inhabitants, and incorporates 16 municipalities. The region coincides with the Faro District, and has as its administrative centre the city of Faro, where both the region's international airport at Faro (FAO) and public university (the University of the Algarve) are located.
Tourism and related activities are extensive and make up the bulk of the Algarve's summer economy. Production of food, which includes fish and other seafood, fruit, oranges, carob beans, figs and almonds, is also economically important in the region. The Algarve is the most popular tourist destination in Portugal, and one of the most popular in Europe. Its population triples in the peak holiday season thanks to a high influx of visitors, and receives an average of 7 million foreign tourists each year. In total, including national visitors, almost 10 million people visit the Algarve every year.
The Algarve has approximately 5412 square km, extending just south of the Tagus valley to the southern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. Its highest point is Fóia, 902 metres (2,959 ft), in the mountain range of Monchique. It also includes some islands and islets. The region is also the home of the Ria Formosa lagoon, a nature reserve of over 170 square kilometres and a stopping place for hundreds of different birds.
The length of the south-facing coastline is approximately 155 kilometres. Beyond the westernmost point of Cape St. Vincent it stretches a further 50 kilometres to the north. The coastline is notable for picturesque limestone caves and grottoes, particularly around Lagos, which are accessible by powerboat.

Finally, having spent a few days in central Portugal and eastern part of Algarve, we reached the province's most beautiful part - rugged coast, cliffs, sea and lovely beaches. Of course, everything almost empty at the beginning of May...
Looking back, we wouldn't have traded the time spent watching the sun set and the waves roll in off the Pacific for anything. This was easily one of the most serene moments of the trip. Seen at Sunset Cliffs Park.

The walk to Point Bonita opens views to the Golden Gate and to the wide Pacific. Each view is framed by the surprisingly colorful cliffs of the Marin Headlands and the hardy plants that live there. Here are the cliffs, the bridge, the lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean.

The Cliffs are 702 feet high at the highest point and range for nearly 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean.
From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
They are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland. The area was designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for Birds under the EU Birds Directive in 1986 and as a Refuge for Fauna in 1988.
