This is the view from the Highland View (Overlook No. 6) along Rim Rock Drive at the Colorado National Monument. I love this view over Monument Canyon with the Book Cliffs in the distance. Found in western Colorado and eastern Utah, the Book Cliffs are a series of desert mountains and cliffs, so named because the Cretaceous sandstone that caps many of the buttes resemble a shelf of books.
Located high on the Colorado Plateau near Grand Junction, the Colorado National Monument was established in 1911 and is managed by the National Park Service.
Birling Gap, near Eastbourne in East Sussex, are part of the world famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs, one of the longest stretches of undeveloped coastline on the south coast. This view shows the cliffs looking west towards the seven sisters.
It looked like we were to be treated with a lovely sunset. We went with our little daughter for a walk along the beach, along Redlowo Cliff. It degrades year by year, especially during the winter storms. It is a part of a National Park, so it has never been protected in any way. Pity...
I set up the camera for a bit longer exposure, to achieve the misty water effect. However, I didn't want to get carried away, as I had no filters with me. It came out quite nicely but I will definitely go back there for another session, now with grad and ND filters in my bag.
