Neon sign for the former Aubry Cleaners in downtown Saginaw, MI. Another business now occupies this building, but they have retained the old sign. This is located about two blocks from the Savoy Bar & Grill sign. The details on both this and the Savoy sign are fantastic - something you just don't see in commercial signage anymore.

On Saturday 18th I walked down the ward looking for something to sketch. This is what I found. The trolley was being used to hold the door open. The cleaner had been very assiduous in cleaning our room.

A dry cleaning company can use this postcard for mailing purposes. The light pastel color palette gives the business card a laundry-fresh feel, appropriate for a cleaners.
There's something really nice about this. You can see they marked it all out with a ruler and did it in pencil before going over in ink. Then they rubbed the pencil out, photocopied, hand cut and delivered.
So why it's not 'professional' or great design, I would personally rather have someone who takes this much time and consideration clean my house.
Unless it's a double bluff... and they know the power of hand type and semiotics of such a design and just got a student to do it for them...
