Lake Louise is a hamlet in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies, known for its turquoise, glacier-fed lake ringed by high peaks.

This mornings walk, earlybird. Nature is beautiful, spring is on her way. I love this time of the year!

The much diminished traffic in Amsterdam during this terrible covid-19 crisis has led to very clear skies and good, fresh air. And there's much less dust, too.

Just look at the vibrantly bright colors of this immense new building project. It's called OurDomain and is meant to develop into a community of mostly young urban professionals and students. There are to be 1559 apartments (including 950 specifically for students). OurDomain is next to the AMC, the great Amsterdam Hospital, and public transport is easy by way of the Holendrecht Station (bus, train and metro).

OZarchitects was founded by Hans van den Oever (1942-2013) and Wouter Zaaijer. The main theme of especially Van den Oever's work is 'functionalism with a romantic "tic"', as Zaaijer writes in his obituary. In this building the romantic "tic" would, I suppose, be those bright colors.

From my summit climb of Mt. Rainier.

I probably pair John Muir quotes with my photos more than any other writer. I try to branch out, but that man's words just speak to me. If I could sit down and chat with someone from history he might be my first choice. He truly felt the beauty and power of nature and could put words to that feeling like no one else. I on the other hand am left searching for words like I'm grasping for straws when hit by those moments of awe.

A dusk view of San Francisco in between two rain storms. The systems didn't make a dent in the drought but they did an excellent job of cleaning the air and brought some much needed snow to the mountains.

What a beautiful place.

Sitting on a grassy cliff and looking down to the flying seabirds and over to the rock in a foggy sunshine.

Wow!

Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.

A sea of bluebells as far as you can see exist for a few brief weeks in April, and then they’re gone. It was the sunlight that struck me though. As we were in the 1st UK Lockdown there was minimal vehicle traffic and none of the usual aircraft into nearby Stansted Airport. I noticed that the air seemed cleaner, as if the planet was healing (all too briefly I fear).

My appreciation and thanks to all of you that have commented, awarded, and faved.

our world is madder than a 2 bob watch

transport is a great creator of environmental pollution; so we freight peanuts from Kingaroy Queensland to Nelson New Zealand and back again.

How stupid is that!

I'm making the Flickr rounds today...

Sunrise hitting a Go Air wing with reflections. The plane is flying above a layer of air pollution near Delhi, India that is reflecting the sunrise and fading up to a bright blue sky. I liked the strong graphic element in this shot taken from the airplane window and the idea of moving from the polluted ground into the clear blue air.

Good weather that shows clear visibility in few months.

This time of year warm sunny days are not always guaranteed, great to be out in the Autumn.

We were out early this morning playing in the backyard getting some exercise and fresh brisk air. Shizandra loves it when it's cool. We are so fortunate that our air quality index is always Good, the air around here does smell nice. I'm sure it has a lot to do with all the trees we have around here.

On Sunday the 5th of July 2020 some of the first 19 BYD Enviro 400EV Citys with Alexander Dennis bodies, finally entered service in Birmingham with National Express.

They represent an investment of 15 million pounds for the company and are the first fully electric double deckers in the region. The first few were delivered to Birmingham Central garage at the end of February and because of the ongoing COVID- 19 pandemic, they were delayed entry into operational use by three months.

The Smart-Vision cameras are now the standard visual assistance with this order, following the initial trial vehicle number 6937. Four distinct branding graphics are applied within the advert framework area displaying their environmental credentials.

Fleet number E008 named 'Laura' had the honour of being the first to enter service with the company. The photograph sees E012 'Mehreen' also on its introductory day on the 6 route to Solihull.
