We can’t see wind, only the things it moves. Likewise, we can’t hear wind unless it’s flowing past something that makes it vibrate; this causes it to adopt various sonic guises depending on what it interacts with. Trees provide some of the most common and admired ways for wind to make itself heard. This sound has been termed psithurism (sith-err-iz-um).
The naturalist author and founding member of the RSPB, W.H. Hudson, suggests in Birds and Man (1901), that psithurism is salubrious. He describes the sound of wind in the trees as “very restorative” – a mysterious voice which the forest speaks to us, and that to lie or sit thus for an hour at a time listening to the wind is an experience worth going far to seek.
The sonic qualities of psithurism seem to smudge the border between music and noise. The American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) described the sound in “A Day of Sunshine”:
“I hear the wind among the trees
Playing celestial symphonies;
I see the branches downward bent,
Like keys of some great instrument.

A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I only erased a couple of wrinkles. and some dirt. I've been working in the patio area, pruning, weeding on hands and knees, and trying to remove creeping wire vine.
I'm tired and a mess.
I don't use makeup, so what you see is what you get.
By now you all know how important children and their welfare are to me. It may only be a small way, but I feel if I do these works and share other's knowledge and feelings maybe in a small way I can make a difference for the better.

This was taken near Vail, rain, bright clouds, red rock and green hills....those are 1 million dollar houses scattered in the top of the ridge.

I'm usually surrounded by people, it's wonderful, but I also enjoy being alone. For me, being alone means having my own time, which I can use unhurriedly and do the things I love. Photography is one of those things.
We had come to Finnish Lapland after Norway and it was the second night when the sun went down after long nightless night period. I stand on the slopes of the Pallas fells and enjoy the play of colors. By the way, the Pallas fells have the cleanest air in the world, according to research. Maybe that's why I want to come to these fells every year and hope that they keep me young when I get to breathe their clean air and climb their slopes.

COME CLOSER......EXPLORE #71....This is part of the stunning coastline at Leeuwin in Western Australia, where the Indian ocean meets the Southern Ocean.....it felt real emotional standing here, and I had forgotten just how emotional until seeing this again!!! Words cant describe how beautiful it was! All feels like a lifetime ago now, when in reality its only about 4 months :o(

The whole valley was full of trees covered in this green tangled lichen. I read somewhere that it's a sign that the air is very free from pollution.
