I bought some really cute girls tights that barely went up to my knees. So I just cut the top part off. And now I have cute socks!
Aww man, I thought I uploaded the picture on here...but I guess not. For the few people who've kept with all my old photo sites, you'll remember seeing the picture of this PSone with drawings and writing all over it. Me and Yumiko did that in 2001 with Sharpies, making this thing look like a wreck. It was great. But since I'm taking in all my gaming stuff this weekend, I decided that I could get at least a few bucks out of this, and tried to clean it up.
Again, for those who saw the old picture, you remember just how fucked this system was with all those drawings.
I can't believe how new I made this thing look. Go ahead and view All Sizes- you can't see a single mark from anything that was there. I managed to clean everything using Gentle Scrub and white, red and green scrub pads. If anyone looking at this has a picture of the Hank-ed PSone, send it to me so I can do a comparison!
'not many fond memories for the PSone. I hated the Playstation for the longest time, and still hate Sony when it comes to their systems. The best things I got out of this? Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy IX, Spyro the Dragon, Parappa the Rapper and...yeah, that's all. It was all about the Dreamcast.
No seriously, I can't believe I got it to look like this. I'm half-tempted to mount it on a wall to showcase my cleaning abilities.
I took this shot on a street very close to the Drum Tower in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China - I have shots of the tower both before and after this one on my strips of negatives.
Like a shot I posted earlier this week of a street in Wuhan, the reason for the shot was that this quiet well-paved tree-lined street is clean - I mean very clean! - clearly well-swept earlier in the day with what appears to have been water in both gutters. Again, the street also appears not to have had any temporary work (no asphalt patches) and there's no sign of any being required.
The street's also almost entirely empty of traffic - just one parked truck and a handful of cyclists and a thin scattering of pedestrians. On the very far left of the image is what appears might be a cycle and side-car - not something I've seen before or since! Again, there is also the complete lack of litter - and bins! The trees on this street are definitely much more mature and developed than the ones in the earlier image.
I think we'd have had to look hard to find a street in similar condition in our major cities at that time... Whilst clearly old-school China, I wonder what it's like today?
Scanned from a negative.
This is group of school kids waiting outside the entrance to their school. To the left is a large wall mural that is part of the "Clean India" campaign. The logo for that campaign is Ghandi's glasses, with the words Clean and India written in Hindi across them.
Anyway, one of the biggest challenges the Modi government faces is that the country has about 600 million people who defecate in the open, due to the lack of toilets. Modi campaigned on a promise to invest $10 billion in sanitary infrastructure. And presumably, one of the benefits of not defecating in the open is that you don't have to worry about the snakes that are also everywhere...
I finally got around to finally attempting to clean the 47 year old doll case that ponyguru sent me. It was unpleasant to touch and it was very dirty and dusty as hell. As you can see, it had gross tape reside and like the thickest patch of dirt on it.
A lot of it came off with water, soap and elbow grease but I also used rubbing alcohol on a few parts and after almost two hours, three toilet paper rolls and screaming it’s finally clean.
I tried to scrub off the rust on the latch but it was so thick the latch couldn’t even move. At least now the rust has lessened enough for me to unlatch things lol.
Anyway i got to let it dry enough but at least I have another cute displayable case to store my vintage clothing in.
I still had some more clean up to do 24 hours after my race and muddy bike. So thinking he'd enjoy spraying stuff with the hose, I recruited the kid to help spray stuff down. It worked! November 20, 2016.

On euro tour with Sean and Neil for 3 days of mayhem and a grand total of 8 hours sleep. Taking in some old and new sites and showing them some of what is out there as it was their first time. Also made time to meet up with the SPEXS crew.
This beautiful monastery was built in the beginning of the 20th century. Since the 1960's it was in use as what they called a ‘reflection home’.
It is still in good shape, but when we arrived it has some water issues. It has been closed for more than 10 years. It will be renovated into service appartments for the elderly soon.

I did this for Me Again Monday where the prompt is, "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." - Marilyn Monroe. Well, I am not a girl. I have four pairs of shoes: the ones for the working, the ones for long hikes, the casual runners, and the dress shoes that I wear with my suits. I also have three pairs of boots: rubber for fishing/camping and rainy days, short for when the snow isn't very deep, and the skidoo for the extreme cold or snow shoeing off trail.
Anyway, I interpreted the MAM theme in this way. I put on some work shoes and grabbed a broom because some days, like this one, I felt like the custodian who is called in to clean up after others.
I am hanging up my broom now though and I am cracking a nice warm Guinness. It is time to relax!
