Herb garden just after transplant: flat leaf Italian parsley, chives, cilantro, and dwarf Greek oregano.
Well I wouldn't call it a garden so much as a big pot with a bunch of vegetable plants in it.
We had a really strong storm last week and it killed the cilantro, and it was doing so well!
2~3 Servings
80g minced onion
50g minced Cilantro
3 minced shitake mushrooms
1 glove ground garlic
3 tablespoons potato starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sake
1 teaspoon sesame oil
15 Dumpling Skins
Preparation:
1. Put the Cilantro, the onions, the shitake mushrooms, and the garlic into a bowl and mix together.
2. Add the sake, the soy sauce, the sesame oil, and the potato starch and mix together until well combined.
3. Put a spoonful of the filling in the center of a dumpling skin. Lift up the edges of the circle and pinch 5 pleats up to create a pouch to encase the mixture. Pinch the top together.
4. Heat a wok or nonstick skillet until very hot. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, tilting the wok to coat the sides. If using a nonstick skillet, add 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil. Place dumplings in a single layer in the wok and fry 2 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
5. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook 6 to 7 minutes, or until the water is absorbed.
Dumplings are served with dipping sauce. To make dipping sauce, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of hot pepper oil.

Another dentist visit for Sheryl, so another good lunch at Arturo's Restaurant in Nuevo Progresso:
FRIED MAIZE (corn) tortilla chips
SALSA (5 tomatoes + 1 jalapeno cooked down)
PICO de GALLO (fresh tomato, onion, chili, cilantro, lime juice)
CHILI RELLENO(poblano pepper stuffed with ground meat filling. Pepper is encased in an omlet coating and covered with ranchero salsa. Served with Spanish rice and refried beans)
ARTURO'S SPECIAL SALAD Milanesa (chicken breast pounded paper thin, crusted with a hint of parmesan, fried), heart of palm, avacado, tomato, green olives, pickles, and asparagus all on a bed of lettuce. Served with cilantro ranch dressing.
And then followed by dessert -- FLAN (Crème caramel)....
Should be topped off with a good Cuban Cigar, an adult libation, and a nap!
The heatwave we got in May caused the Cilantro my deck to bolt. Captured June 25.
It does have very pretty and very tiny flowers, so grabbed the iPhone and Olloclip and got a few acceptable shots. It was a bit breezy so this shot is not as sharp as I normally like.
As usual these days it was edited on the iPad in Snapseed.
Restarting my 365. :) there will be times when I do take the daily photos but won't have the chance to upload. Please stick with me :)
THIS IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPH... it is a Photoshop composite made for a commercial project. The images used are not original, they are stock images purchased from IStock.
The composited image has been subjected to some special effects and a bit of scribbling to make it look like a pastel drawing on textured paper. The final artwork will be used on a label for a fragranced candle. (see previous image)
This is partly what I do all day when I'm not posting things to Flickr.
The vegetarian breakfast at this slightly bland cafe. It looks fine in the photo, but none of the ingredients were really very good. The hash brown was sort of chewy and flaccid, the beans were vinegary, and the scrambled eggs were only passable. At Cilantro, Tottenham Court Road.
