MY ADOPTION STORY (and a little history about my Pirate of the Bow-Wows!): Hello All! Chopper is a ''Chipin'' (half Chihuahua, half Miniature Pinscher). When Chopper was 10 months old, his previous owner could no longer keep him, and he was on his way to the dog pound. I saw his picture on a bulletin board at Oates Country Store in Allendale. He instantly stole my heart and I rescued him that weekend. He is now almost 4-1/2 years old, and he has found his calling in Bow-Wow World: HE IS A CANINE PIRATE! He LOVES his pirate costume! He jumps up and down, and spins 'round and 'round when it's time to put on his pirate costume. I purchased the orange and black striped knit sweater and leggings from Sam's Club. The hat, earrings, patch, pistol, sword, treasure chest and coins are from the Dollar Tree Store. After sewing everything together, we did a practice pirate run to make sure everything fit okay. The pirate costume fit Chopper's size and personality PERFECTLY! He did not want to take it off. He pranced around all evening strutting his stuff as if he was 10 feet tall. Chopper is the Pirate of the Bow-Wows! The "treasures" that he steals on a daily basis consist of hay from my Miniature Donkeys, cat food from my three domestic cats, senior dog food from my old Queensland Heeler, and tomatoes from my vegetable garden. He never buries his treasures or booty. He enjoys his treasures and he guards and protects them all day. Shortly after I adopted him, he was injured in battle with my youngest cat. The eye patch is a reminder of his wound. Chopper readily accepts all of his new friends and he welcomes them into his pirate fold. He steals the hearts of young and old. He confidently poses for pictures. Chopper is a BIG little dog and he weighs 9 pounds. Chopper is worth his weight in gold dubloons! He has the heart of a Chihuahua. He has found his bark. Raleigh famously introduced the Chopper kid's bike in 1969, but this bike is not one of them. This is an aftermarket head badge in the style of the Schwinn oval head badges. I haven't found any similar head badges.
This chopper was built by high school students in Chelsea, Alabama, and is on the top floor of the Barber's Motor Sports Museum.
Even the really butch meter maids are afraid of this one.
The BillyLlama and I spotted Chopper while on a recent photostroll. Billy didn't want to get very close either.

Even at 7 years old I was too tall to ride one.
Happened across this one on the street. I couldn't help but notice the boob lion has a full mane. I wonder what this means. Note that I photographed this at 200mm from around the corner so the owner (who was partying across the street in a second floor condo with 10 or 12 other bikers) wouldn't see me.
