South Korea

an old friend of mine asked back in winter to help him with some shots of his chopper. it was a life dream of his to get into some biker mags. he even arranged the obligatory bikini model.

we met after work at a biker bar south of raleigh. i shot some pool, had a beer or two, hung out with the owner and his minature doberman Spike while i waited.

once my friend showed up, we rolled down to a nearby lake for some shots - the bikini model was stuck at work.

we got a couple test shots in that afternoon, and we'll do the real set next tuesday.

this was up in the same location as the underwater search team on the 12th and they were still searching the river and bank yesterday looking for a weapon i can only think of a stabbing or street robbery or both on bath cycle track more photos like this on

The Chopper started in the early 1920's with Bob -Jobs and Cut Downs as a way of lightening a motorcycle to make it go faster . After the World War 11 returning American servicemen had the money to by the latest Harley Davidson Knuckleheads and the skills to modify them according to their whims . The genre evolved until the 1950's and 60's , choppers became platforms for artistic and mechanical expression with the extravagant use of chrome , wildly extended springer folks and brilliant paintwork on the tank . Dennis Hoppers 1969 film Easy Rider gave the central roll to two Harley - Davidson choppers there by enshrining the design in popular culture .

The engine in this bike is the classic HD Knucklehead , this one dating from 1941 , the bike constructed in c 1973 .

Engine : 1207 cc OHV 45 V twin

Hey Max, let's start maintenance work!

In an old garage a mechanic is working on a chopper motorcycle for maintenance. The faithful red cat Max look at him curiously, radio tuned on classics, sounds blues songs.

I have still inserted a couple of Modulex bricks as small parts boxes.

The wooden walls of the garage are built with a technique shared by Ralf Langer, thanks and credits to him!

Saw and documented this chopper at Subway Cave State park in California. had the purple heart metal on the side chrome thing

This is the mill that is making my triple trees, head set and brackets for my chopper. I took this shot a little while ago for work as a possible catologue shot.

The frame is almost complete just waiting for the brackets for the rear axle to be milled then i'll weld them on. Then i can mount the rear wheel, which will enable me to fit a fixed fender and position the seat.

I lost the drawing i had, but i'll try get another shot uploaded this week that gives a better idea of how it will look ;-)

Have a great week !!

If you have never been, never had the chance, Never experienced the power of being at the "WALL" All I can say is that if you are ever in Washington D.C I think you should visit it. I was down in Washington D.C last summer. The Power, the feel of raw emotion that one feels when they place there hands and lay the eyes on the granite. I am a man that loves his county very much, I am pround to say my father is a Vietnam Vetern. When I was searching for images last night online I came across the one you see on the top left. This image is important to me because The unit patch was my dads when he was in vietnam. When I saw this photo, I was taken back because I couldn't even begin to think what or how he was feeling. The only thing I can do and say is.....THANK YOU!!!!!!!

My father served his country in the U.S. ARMY from 1971-2003

*****Please, out of respect for myself and the veterns who visit my stream dont add any negitive comments. *****

When I grew up in the seventies, only the rich kids had Choppers

During COVID, Like so many others, I've turned inward, so, a metal sculpture in our living room, we named "Chopper", got a new, menacing look.

Meet Chopper, my friend's new colt who was 5 days old when this image was made. One of the great themes of Easter is new life, so this is my offering to remind us that Christ died and arose so that we can have new life in Him.

I am not very skilled in animal photography, especially horses who run the minute you approach them with a camera. I am going to "study up" and go back and try again. I would have preferred to not have his legs cropped off, but I wasn't fast enough on the trigger! I think this image does show his magnificent musculature even at this tender age. By the way, he is a quarter horse and will be used to run barrels by his 50+ yr.-old owner, who has done this all her life and can't get enough of it even now.

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are in the Mohave desert

at the Playa Beautimus Retirement Resort, filming Rescue Randy the most interesting leading man in the Galaxy and (worlds only living tissue crash test dummy) Randy is staring in his own TV series (The Stunt Man). Today is the filming of the Dilly Dally episode, Dilly Dally is a beautiful tall blond shuffleboard coach at the Playa Beautimus Resort. The scene opens with Dilly sending Randy a text that she is being held hostage by two four foot tall Grey Martians in her RV, the scene will be Randy jumping out of the "CC" Camera Camper you see in the back of this sketch, it will be filming in 3D as Randy free falls 127 miles per hour, like a human torpedo toward the RV. The camera will zoom in when Randy pulls the cord on his Ram Air Stunt Man Parachute, which fails to open, and Randy is filmed in 3d Slow motion as he is falling toward the RV. The Yucca tree you see will break Randy's fall. Randy will be a bit shaken with Yucca leaves sticking out of his crash test dummy living skin, and oozing a lot of test dummy blood. Randy will shake himself off and break down the RV door. The inside cameras will film Randy as he is Kung Fu fighting the two Martians, after the twelve minute fight, he subdues and ties up the two for JB in the chopper to arrest.

The closing scene you see Dilly carrying Randy into the sunset over her shoulder, up the dusty road headed to the Play Beautimus Trauma Center.

Until the next exciting episode of "The Stunt Man"
