When I was growing up in the Eighties the supercar of choice was the LP500 Countach, complete with massive wing, vents & skirts. This 1974 car is a different proposition - aggressive purely of form, details paired back to almost obsessively minimalistic.
This Verde Medio Countach is the fifth ever. It was commissioned and owned by Francesco Innocenti, the at-the-time heir to the Italian scooter and motor car empire. It says something that he was all of 22 years old when he purchased this car to replace a specially commissioned Miura SV. How the other half live...
These early Countach were often nicknamed Persicopa for the roof - indented periscope channel that was intended to offer some level of rear visibility, similar to the sports - prototypes of the era such as the Porsche 917. Apparently it didn't, so the feature didn't find it's way into later cars...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. One of the joys of femininity is putting together an outfit and matching accessories. Choosing colours , materials and styles make being a woman such a wonderful experience.

In light of recent events...
For those of you unaware and/or not from the states, the state of South Dakota has just signed legislature banning abortions in the state, except for cases in which the mother's life is in danger. This is not good news for the rest of the country.
Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as my "personal favorite".

Election time and plenty of candidates to choose from, I think he's made his choice. Bacolod City, Philippines.
Inspired by this week’s announcement that we are going to the polls. Being that it’s election time for both Canada and our American neighbors to the south – the choice is yours. The right or the left. Dion or Harper. Mcain or Obama. Red or blue (sorry for the greens and orange supporters in Canada but I could not find those colored doors in the city).
Which ever your choice – go vote. Power to the people no delay.

Special:
- In French "DS" is called as "déesse" which means "goddess". This is also the pet name: "goddess of the way".
- The technique of DS is developed under the leadership of André Lefebvre.
- For that time very spectacular carriage design was from the Italian chief designer of Citroën, Flaminio Bertoni, who also modeled the Traction Avant, the Deux Chevaux and the Ami.
- It has a four-speed manual gearbox, a Weber carburettor, a 63 liter fuel tank and front wheel drive.
- The DS featured intense roadholding, braking and handling, and hydropneumatic self-leving suspension system.
- This model year (1966) still has the "double" headlights. 1968 was the first year of aerodynamic glass enclosing the headlamps on the DS also the first year that feature was outlawed in the US.
- While the DS was popular in Europe, it didn't sell well in the United States. Only about 38,000 were sold between 1956 and 1972. It did't have the basic features that American buyers expected to find on such a vehicle: fully automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows, and a powerful engine.
