A child's choices in life sometimes are as simple as rasberry, cherry or orange.

"One day she finally grasped that unexpected things were always going to happen in life. And with that, she realized the only control she had was how she chose to handle them. So, she made the decision to survive using courage, humor, and grace. She was the Queen of her own life and the choice was hers." - Kathy Kinney

2011

I decided that 2012 is not going to be about big new initiatives for me....but more about trying to make good on some sound ideas.

So my plans for the new year are this:

Do what I love frequently and often

Spend time with those I love...frequently and often

Let go of things that no longer serve me

And where possible, try and make good choices.

Happy Me Again Monday!

In the chiaroscuro lighting, a young monk stands immersed in contemplation, his gaze fixed heavenward. The stark monochromatic palette echoes the clarity of his commitment, symbolizing the purity and discipline he has embraced. The interplay of shadows and light in this photograph encapsulates the young monk's deliberate decision to navigate the nuanced realms of existence on his quest for inner illumination.

The essence of your character is shaped by your choices. Each day, what you decide, how you think, and the actions you take define who you are becoming.

“We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel free as birds. We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious. If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing. We should plague everyone with joy. If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing? (136-137)”

~ Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”

It has been awhile since I've posted anything from the Rizal area. I shoot here quite often as it is only minutes away from my work, but I felt like this one was worth posting. The weather is starting to pick up here in the Northwest so I've been trying to take advantage.

Thanks for dropping in and have a great week ahead.
