Everyday we are given choices.

A choice of what we intend to eat and drink.

A choice to approach the day as another one that is new or much of the same.

A choice on how we live, how we vote, what we plan to give to the world and to our children or furry pets.

You can be grateful that everything moves along and decisions that you make hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly can change your world.

Yes, it is a difficult big picture these days in terms of the way things have swung along politically...but I’ve been given opportunities and choices in my “local’ world that makes things feel real and positive.

It starts small and within.

I found this in two places at the American Red Cross chapter serving King and Kitsap County. The first two panels are particularly meaningful.

being a girl is full of hard decisions.. like what dress to wear.

I chose this to be my free choice image because I liked the way the flower and some grass was in focus while the background was blurry. I also liked how the white flower stands out amongst the dark green grass. I took this image when I was in Hawaii. To edit this, I opened it in photoshop and enhanced the brightness and contrast levels. Also, I cropped the image and burned some parts of the grass to make the flower stand out better. I also enhanced the colors of the yellow inside the flower and the burnt red orange on the side of the petal to add more color and appeal to the image. I enjoyed this project because I was able to shoot whatever I wanted.
