The Flickr Lounge-Photographers Choice
I took this on the way home from Stu's gig. The sky was so pretty that evening.
I decided that 2012 is not going to be about big new initiatives for me....but more about trying to make good on some sound ideas.
So my plans for the new year are this:
Do what I love frequently and often
Spend time with those I love...frequently and often
Let go of things that no longer serve me
And where possible, try and make good choices.
Happy Me Again Monday!
.. You can choose to be happy. There's going to be stress in life,
but it's your choice whether you let it affect you or not.

To have an enthusiasm for something is neither surprising nor does it make us commendable; the question is whether we should have a passion for the thing. Is the thing worthy of the desire? Are we better, happier, and purer people for desiring the thing?

There's always 7-11 ... for lunch ... again ...
He looks away, ashamed that all too often he's called Gatorade & Doritos a meal. He should have just gone down to the train.
“We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel free as birds. We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious. If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing. We should plague everyone with joy. If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing? (136-137)”
~ Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
~ Lao Tzu
“We are our choices.”
~ Jean-Paul Sartre

As for how this was done:
Model inside elevator, SB800 fired through umbrella from the left front, Wide-angle lens obviously. The patterns on the wall are all natural light - the elevators paneling isn't straight but curved so that the lights from above are reflected in those nice patterns.
Shot in RAW and post-processed with Capture One 4.
-Added to theCream of the Crop pool as my personal favorite.
My first street photography attempts. I was attracted to this scene by the rich colors. But somehow I find this image works so much better in black and white.
It has been awhile since I've posted anything from the Rizal area. I shoot here quite often as it is only minutes away from my work, but I felt like this one was worth posting. The weather is starting to pick up here in the Northwest so I've been trying to take advantage.
Thanks for dropping in and have a great week ahead.

Street candid taken in Glasgow, Scotland, and split-tone processed (with two shades of red) for Flickr Red Day. Today, 6th April, is Flickr Red Day - oh I am all for change and innovation, but I am also a huge supporter of choice and the new Flickr layout does not really work well for us PC users and an option for the old layout would be the ideal solution. I upload this heavily processed street shot in solidarity of the Flickr Red Day protest.
