Deciding which pollen to feast on.

I had a rare outing a few days back and managed a quick visit to Lake MacIntyre reserve near Millicent.

The title refers to one of those choices that you are often faced with. Without going into too much detail, I was in desperate need of using 'the facilities'. Nature was calling very loudly. But, as I got out of the car, I saw the flash of colour up in the trees and saw this beautiful rosella posing perfectly on a gnarly old gum tree. So, the choice had to be made between a badly needed comfort stop, and a bird photo. Thankfully, the camera was close at hand and I decided on the bird shot. Just as well, as it took off immediately after I took the shot. I see these colourful guys so rarely, I just had to grab it while I could.

Sorry to be posting so many images of the young Lorikeets, but I had a lot of fun photographing them on Friday.

I love this one's expression as it looked to choose which flower to dine on next.

Whatever your opinion is of David Finchers Alien 3 there can be no doubt in the excellent choice of location for the opening scenes. Chemical beach and Blast beach on the Durham coastline provide some very unusual and rugged settings. The harsh light of the cloudless sky proved quite challenging though, requiring full use of the filters.

I am a huge fan of Snoopy. This Snoopy was given to me on Valentines Day from my loving husband who also has a sense of humor. As another joke, he and my friend thinks Snoopy needs to wake with a Mountain Dew. Whatever happened to coffee?
