Chevron, marque mythique si il en est, a été fondée par Derek Bennett. Ce brillant ingénieur, principalement autodidacte, avait une aptitude impressionnante pour réparer, modifier et sculpter des voitures de course. Comme tant de grands constructeurs de voitures de course de son époque, quand il ne travaillait pas au développement de ses autos, on pouvait le trouver derrière le volant de la plupart des voitures de course qu'il construisait. Il a commencé dans le minuscule garage de sa maison familliale, pour devenir l'un des plus grands noms du monde des sports prototypes et des monoplaces. Il s'agit d'une des rares marques à avoir construit pour toutes les catégories, de la Formule Ford à la F1. Pas moins de six anciens pilotes de Chevron ont remporté le titre de champion du monde.

The FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship is a series of Le Mans-style sports cars and Group 4 cars period from 1962 to 1974. FIA Masters Historic Sports Cars make for superb vision with the big bangers struggling with the sporty prototypes of engines Minors and GT cars. Chevrons take on Porsche, Lola and Ferrari, with Osella, Coldwell and Ford all represented on the ground-shaking grid. Classes are divided by engine size and year, and are named after the iconic names in sports car racing.
