So I went to a family Christmas party today, and I took my dolls because I thought that I would be SO bored and would have nothing to do, so I might as well take a few pics. When I got there I discovered that my cousin(at least that's what I think she is..) also has pullips, she saw Neeki at my Aunt's wedding a long time ago, and so now she has two, a Nina and a Celsiy, named Nina and Chelsea. I had to take these pics with her camera using my card because my camera was dead.. I had so much fun!

I have also had my mind changed about Nina, I never liked her, but now that I've seen her in person I think she's gorgeous!

Meet Chelsea.

I saw Chelsea by a street corner with her mom a few days ago on my way to pick dinner, and instantly knew that she would be a amazing photo subject. A wonderful personality with happy gleaming eyes and luxuriant hair, she would definitely make strong pictures. But I hesitated just a bit and they had already passed me. One of the things I have learned on the project is to never call out or approach a person from behind them. But as my luck would have it I met them a few minutes later with Chelsea clicking pictures of her mom and herself by a wall mural. I approached Chelsea and requested her to be a part of the project and after a quick check with her mom she happily agreed. We walked to a,spot a few minutes away which afforded us much better light and bokeh chatting a bit as we walked.

Chelsea works as a aesthetician, someone who makes people look beautiful. She has two dogs that she adores and plays the guitar and enjoys singing. Her favorite memories from recent times are visiting her friend who recently had a newborn. What she lives about herself- that she is big-hearted and likes to help people. If there was one quality she would want she instantly responded "have more confidence". Which honestly was a surprise.during my interaction Chelsea was all confidence and extremely friendly. To an extent I felt I did not exploit her potential - beside being very photogenic she was completely at ease with the camera working her poses and gazes, despite being on a crowded street with a stranger. I had to balance this with capturing her true personality - as her mother very correctly said "capture her essence". All in a all a real fun encounter. Special thanks to her mom for her gentle suggestions as well as helping with the reflector.

Thanks a lot Chelsea or being such a fun subject - it was great photographing you. Wishing you all the very best for future - if you stop by and would like a copy of the pics please feel free to drop me a note..

Curzon Chelsea Cinema, London. Pictured on its last day of operation, 31st March 2018 83 years after the first film was shown, demolition approaches. Designed by WE Trent and Ernest F Tulley, the Gaumont Palace opened on 8th December 1934 with 2,502 seats in stalls and balcony - the was a full stage and a Compton Organ with an illuminated console. It was renamed Odeon in 1963 and was rebuilt internally - the stalls becoming a habitat store, a new 739 seat cinema in the balcony and the stage house was converted to flats. Closed in 1981, it reopened as an art house cinema, known as the Chelsea Cinema in 1983, operated by Artifical Eye. When that company merged with Curzon, the cinema was renamed for a final time. Under threat from redevelopment for several years, the Curzon finally closed in March 2018 with "Stalker" as a special matinee and a live transmission from the Metropolitan Opera in the evening. The redevelopment will retain the facade and will include a three screen cinema with a 400 seat large auditorium to be run by Curzon.

Chelsea Old Church, also known as All Saints. It was severely damaged in WWII but has been lovingly restored, including the St Thomas More Chapel. It contains many noteworthy monuments of great significance. The tweet of the church features in paintings by Whistler and Turner.

It was lovely to meet Chelsea down at the UCLan Sport Centre in Preston. Chelsea was refereeing a ladies football game between PNE Ladies and Cammell Laird Ladies. You don't see too many female referees but with interest in the ladies game rising dramatically hopefully that will change. This was Chelsea's second refereeing job of the day having covered a men's game in the morning too.
