Another one from my shoot with Chelsea last weekend. This was taken at Percy Warner Park.
When I was in Nashville in March, my friend Caitlyn and I went to Waffle House at 2am and then decided to drive aimlessly for a while. We ended up at Percy Warner, were intrigued by the stone gates, and entered. I thought it was just a little park and that we could turn around and exit just past a grove of trees...but I was wrong. We spent the next 20 minutes driving on an incredibly curvy, dark road...uphill, downhill, what looked to be unbarricaded cliffs next to us. We screamed when we saw animals cross the road in front of us. When we finally approached the exit, we were greeted by about 15 deer within 15 feet of the car. We screamed again. Yeah, we're cool.
When Chelsea told me she wanted to shoot there, I was kind of nervous...but it's definitely a lot nicer during the day, with people jogging all over the place and family picnics taking place, and then I felt like a total wuss for being so afraid at night. But in mine and Cait's defense...we had no idea what was even ahead of us as we entered those gates. :)

Finally had the chance to meet and shoot with the wonderful Chelsea Deen. Shot a lot of stuff of her and her boyfriend, Paul, whom was a really rad dude. Lots more to come from the day.
Currently in Merritt Island, FL with Noah Sahady on our trip around the U.S. this summer. Here is a list of all our stops along the way. Looking south towards Chelsea train station in southeast Melbourne VIC.
Digging works have started on the right side of the road in preparation for the base of the new overhead train structure. The existing "brown steel" overheads constructed in the 1920's will be pulled down soon I imagine.
Hi, my name is Lindsay. Havent gotten on in a while. I took these pictures of chelsea around 2 weeks ago. She was a very fun model to work with! We hit up downtown Houston and just had fun! She actually came all the way from Luisiana for us to photograph so I thought that was pretty awesome! My bf and I shot some photos of her and her bf. Here is a little bit of my set.

The goal is to sell prints from this series to raise money for breast cancer research.
These efforts came about due to my Aunt being diagnosed with Breast Cancer almost two years ago. Luckily, she has made a successful recovery and she has inspired me to help find a cure.
If any one is interested in purchasing prints please contact me via email: mikechillemi@gmail.com
Also, any women who are interested in modeling for this series, please contact me as well!
Thank you again to Chelsea for an amazing shoot.
Caledonian Sleepers Class 87 No. 87002 'Royal Sovereign' approaches Lichfield while working 1Z82 1420 London Euston - Liverpool Lime Street footex on 11th May 2016. The gloomy day may reflect the mood of the Chelsea fans, for whom the special had been organised, as it had few passengers which probably reflected their teams poor season. However they obtained a 1-1 draw against Liverpool with the home side only equalising an early Chelsea goal late in the game. Copyright Photograph John Whitehouse - all rights reserved

I left the first class of a course called “The World’s Livable Cities” and was on my way to retrieve my bicycle which was locked in front of the Student Centre on campus. I saw her sitting on a chair in the urban park on campus, reading notes and listening to her iPod through earbuds. She made a striking presence with her silver reflective sunglasses and bright lipstick with the golden October sun bouncing off some fallen leaves and onto her face. I knew I would kick myself if I didn’t approach her and invite her to participate in my Human Family photo project. I had to bend over to get her attention and she removed an earbud and agreed to my request after asking if I had a brochure. Once again, my contact card made it clear that I was serious about my project. She wanted to know if I was in the photography program at the university (It’s a pretty well-known program) and I explained I’m not but that I take some lifelong learning courses for retired people such as myself. Meet Chelsea who was getting ready for class.
I felt the quickest, best option for a portrait that would showcase her attractive features would involve moving the char a meter to one side to remove a line of contrasting paving stones from the grey pavers behind her. She was happy to oblige even though it involved juggling her coffee cup, papers, and bag. I dragged the chair over and gave her the “drill” about looking into my lens and to expect several photos to be taken “to hedge myself against missed focus or some other clumsy mistake.” She understood and I took a few photos with the glasses, then without. I was pretty sure I would want her eyes showing in my chosen portrait but wanted to get the reflective glasses as a comment photo. I had to fiddle with a couple of small details such as the white arm of the chair showing low in the frame (I changed my angle slightly) and a sliver of white shirt showing above her scarf (she and I collaborated on making it disappear – something I’ve gotten more comfortable with in helping my subjects look their best).
At this point I discovered that Chelsea was going to be late for class so the conversation part of the encounter got cheated a bit. Chelsea is 17 and is an English major at the university. She was born and raised in Canada by Vietnamese parents. Her greatest challenge? “Finding a job.” I said “I’ve heard that from English majors before!” and we both laughed. A message to share through the project? “Just be yourself because that’s the best person you can be.”
Thank you Chelsea for taking a few minutes to meet and participate in The Human Family. I hope I didn’t make you late for class. Good luck with your studies (and in finding work).
This is my 69th submission to the Human Family group on Flickr.
