Indigenous people struggle for water in their daily lives during the dry season. They collect water through pipes from distant hills by damming the springs.

The inhabitants of the Hill Tracts are mostly tribal. Life of the tribal people is extremely fascinating. Majority of them are Buddhists and the rest are Hindus, Christians and Animists. Despite the bondage of religion, elements of primitiveness are strongly displayed in their rites, rituals and everyday life. The tribal families are matriarchal. The women-folk are more hardworking than the males and they are the main productive force.

The tribal people are extremely self-reliant, they grow their own food, their girls weave their own clothes and generally speaking, they live a simple life. Each tribe has its own dialect, distinctive dress and rites and rituals. The common feature is their way of life, which still speaks of their main occupation.

Tribal women are very skillful in making beautiful handicrafts. Tribal people are generally peace loving, honest and hospitable.

At least one and a half lakh people were trapped in water in Satkaniya flood of Chittagong. Lack of electricity, clean drinking water has increased the level of suffering. Due to climate change, continuous rains and sudden floods caused by mountain landslides are all misery.

House yards, crop fields, graveyards have been submerged in water for the last few days amid incessant rainfall.

Durga Puja, which is celebrated massively all over the world. Basically you can say one of the biggest festival of our Hindus all over the world. Actually it's kinda get-together that’s why It's known as a festival.

We celebrated Durga Puja in Autumn. Goddess Durga is worshipped for three days, and on the fourth days we immerse her in the rivers❤️

On the last day of Durgapuja of Hindu religion,, people muster strong at the Sea Beach of Chattogram to immerse goddess Durga in the sea water. They bid farewell to the deity Durga. People use umbrellas for protection against untimely downpours and soaking.

Train journey to home for Eid celebration in 2022, smoother than expected at Chittagong railway station .

Amongst the streets of Chittagong, through the sweatshops and alleyways a team of men chopped, cooked, stirred and packed cauldrons of hot food for lunches. It smelled amazing.

Chattogram (Chittagong), Bangladesh

Legend has it that a princess from Arakan fell in love with a tribal prince from Chattogram. One moonlit night, they met secretly by the river. The moon’s enchanting reflection shimmered on the river’s surface, leaving the princess mesmerized. As she gazed at the scene in awe, the flower tucked behind her ear slipped into the water. The swift current of the river carried the flower away. Desperate to retrieve it, the princess leapt into the river but was swept away by the strong current. The prince, in an attempt to save her, dived in as well but tragically failed. The picture shows the Bridge over Karnaphuli (Literal meaning: Flower behind the ear) River
