I accidentally had my camera in video mode when I tried to take a photo of this cow waiting at a door in Bundi, India. I switched back to photo mode right away but I think the video has a little extra fillip!
Made with wholemeal atta flour, like chapattis, but cooked in the tandoori like a naan. Nice and smoky.
We have a buffet lunch every day on the roof of MSR. They put up the tarps after it started to get windy and wet. When the tarps are down we have a beautiful view of the city. That's Sumit grabbing some chapati.
The word Chapati is from the Hindi capātī, from capānā, meaning to ‘flatten or roll out.’
These scenes of preparing lunch for the hungry are from Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Old Delhi.

The Himalayan marmot is one of the highest living mammals in the world. Himalayan marmots are found from 4000 m to the upper edge of the vegetated zone (ca 5500 m) in the mountains of Nepal, parts of India, and parts of Tibet. A subspecies of the Himalayan marmot, M. himalyana robusta, is one of the largest marmots and may weigh over 6 kg.
Virtually nothing is known about this species who goes by the common name "Tibetan snow pig".
The only US holiday named after an animal, Groundhog Day, is named after a marmot.
We left early for Asia’s longest lake and most beautiful lake among all. We reached Changla Pass through a narrow and tough road from Leh. It is the third highest pass in the world at height of 5289m. There is a army tea canteen which provides all the travelers Black tea and dry fruits at no cost. Beyond Changla another breath taking valley opens up along with some greenery where you can see Wild Himalayan Horses, Ibexes, Tibetan Antelopes, Himalayan Wolves, Black necked Cranes and our own favourite Himalayan Marmot (Phiya in local language). This fat rat, size of a small dog, from squirrel family was fearless and friendly. I game him my partner’s parantha and chocolates. We stayed some quality time with him in his wild while returning.

Ascending the Pass. Snow starts to be really deep, it takes a lot of effort to continue. Breathing gets heavy, few steps and then stop. The surroundings are just breathtakingly beautiful as well. The light gets brighter and brighter. Near to the Top of the Pass, a cloud appears and takes all sight. We are not sure if we can continue, time is after 4PM already.
Roasted cauliflower (and I added some stir-fried chicken) tossed in a rich sauce that is sweet and spicy, served on freshly cooked chapati.
The sauce is made by reducing a mixture of canned tomatoes, sauteed onions, vinegar and sugar until it is thick, then making it into a puree. Original recipe is here: nourish-me.typepad.com/nourish_me/2008/05/roasted-caulifl.... I used sriracha instead of chili powder.
The spinach and tomato palak was absolutely delicious (if I do say so myself). Not fond of the chapatis, though -- want to try again with just unbleached flour, the whole wheat was too heavy.
