Taivas with her paws on the fridge - I'm not so sure it was a good idea to teach her this! LOL

The Aviation Challenge is an annual get together of regional schools/colleges maths/science year 12 students for an introduction to the world of aviation and a fun day of competition building gliders.

From as far north as Berwick to Richmond in the south and Darlington in the west, schools/colleges turned up in teams of 4 (+member of staff) to build a glider.

We hope these budding scientists may be inspired to join the BEng Aerospace programme and HNC/D Aeronautical Engineering programmes.

Technical delivery and hosted by Hartlepool College of Further Education; lunch and programme administration by the Advanced mathematics Support Programme; Prizes and materials costs covered by Teesside University.

RMIT VN Green Generation Club cooperated with International Club, Aikido Club, and Vietnam Sach & Xanh to organize an environmental campaign called ‘’TRASH CHALLENGE EVENT’’, not only catching up the viral trend but also contributing Green-clean-beautiful environment protection.

This is a great stamp called Willows Umbrella by Whiff of Joy.

I was delighted to see the beads from the spring challenge arrive.

It was the same day as I unloaded my kiln and saw my new "green"glaze. The color blend was perfect.

Thanks for having this challenge. I was forced to move out of my comfortable little niche and develop a new glaze as well as making some effort to add design elements to my work.

I guess I am a "less is more" kind of jewelry maker and I'm realizing this more as time goes by.

This probably has to do with the fact that I normally make very straightforward porcelain pendants that are the focus for most pieces.

I ended up making three different "variations" of this piece and sold 2 sets as speaker gifts for presenters at a conference here. No photo's were ever taken. :(

I realized i had better get a picture of this one before I had nothing left for the challenge.

Two handcrafted beads in a copper pod worked really well with the glass beads from the challenge pool. It is 24 inches long.

Throughout the Sea Perch Institute Challenge 2011, MIT Sea Grant engineers and volunteers helped students keep an eye on the underwater situation. This image shows REX II--Reef Explorer II. REX II is a hybrid ROV/AUV that's usually used for exploring coral reefs. For the Sea Perch event, REX sent streaming video to monitors on the pool deck so that the students could track their progress.
