When there are many problems and responsibilities in life, when you cannot feel free, then you challenge yourself and your destiny.
Когда в жизни множество проблем и обязанностей, когда ты не можешь почуствовать себя свободным, тогда ты бросаешь вызов самому себе и своей судьбе.
So I'm trying to move away from drawing flat-on side angles, and drawing a bit more 3D. This is my attempt at the Challenger 1 MBT
I composed this image in response to a self-imposed photography challenge: create an interesting image of a door, or doors. In accomplishing this, I sought to construct a photograph that was open (pardon the pun) to interpretation.
Union Pacific Challenger 3985 is under steam and positioned next to the Cheyenne engine house. Tomorrow, the big Alco will be making a round trip to Laramie.

Created for Artistic Manipulation Group's Mixmaster Challenge #62 in which Chef Temari 09 asks us to create a manipulated and/or digital art image that uses her ingredients. www.flickr.com/groups/artisticmanipulation/discuss/721577...
CHEF Temari 09 wants us to enjoy our gardens!
➤ The main focus of your image must be a macro (closeup) of a single flower.
➤ The flower will be surrounded by a significant frame that includes an outer edge that is highly patterned and/or fractal.
➤ Include at least one other garden element (flowers, leaves, etc.).
➤ Also Illustrations (cartoon-like) of at least two funny animals (max 4).
➤ No People including humanoids (robots, statues, etc.).
Flower macro is my own photo.
I created the frame in DDG Text 2 Dream using this prompt:
A beautiful square frame with bright chartreuse fractals that has alternating stripes of black and white (and then I inverted the color in Photoshop).
Pngwing.com: Seahorse (used 2Xs), Seaweed (sea grapes).
Processing done in Photoshop Beta 2023 and Topaz Studio for a graphic texture.
Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments.

When this day began, I was comfortably trapped in my chic little Icelandic hotel cabin by snow drifts covering the door that were over five feet high. I heard some scrapping noises and peered out the window next to the door. The ever cheerful English guy in the bright red parka grinned back at me with his infectious smile. With a loud "good morning, Anne!", he waved the tiny shovel that he'd purchased at the Iceland version of the convenience store just the day before in the 'remote' chance that we might be snowed in at some point in the trip. Within time, I was freed into the wildly blowing subzero winds.
Our destination was Reynisfjara, one of the most beautiful and yet dangerous beaches in Iceland. I had seen the videos showing tourists trapped in terrifying sneaker waves on this beach and so I was careful not to get caught in one myself. We had not been so lucky a few days earlier at the beach in Vik which managed to swamp us with a rogue wave of freezing water - despite our best efforts to keep an eye out.
The temperatures this day were so far below freezing that it didn't matter what the number was -it was just bitterly cold. The winds were so strong that I felt that I was pushing against a wall just to walk forward. I took off in an opposite direction from my friends to find a different point of view. Hiking up to this overlook, I found a little shelter from the wind and I was able to set up my tripod and catch this scene just as the morning sun began to light up a bit. The sea looks almost benign in this image but believe me, it was very rough and thunderously loud as the crashing waves landed on the obsidian sands and rocks.
I know that I had a huge smile on my face that morning. I'm smiling right now just thinking about how good it feels to be in places like this which challenge us to thrive in adverse conditions. On this International Women's Day, don't give me a pair of fancy designer shoes, but give me more days like this one.

Military Odyssey Show Maidstone Kent.
This show of Military Odyssey celebrates it’s 17th year, with groups covering a vast period of global history.
This was an ideal opportunity to capture some vintage images for our groups October printed challenge.
Getting as close as I possibly can on a circuit board, harvested from a remote-controlled power outlet whose remote went belly-up, capturing examples of tiny surface-mount devices, possibly resistors. The ruler scale at the bottom is in millimeters.
Taken with the Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens at 5X magnification. At that setting, the lens has to be less than an inch (25.4mm) from the subject, making lighting difficult. The lens and camera were attached to a macro focusing rail, a necessary but very finicky device (more so at extreme magnification) used to move the camera fore and aft to focus. Given my sometimes uncooperative set of hands I have, it was a challenge, indeed.

It struck me when my friend Robert Pacheco mentioned that my image of LV 18 was a moving light house, I thought how unusual that may be world wide.
Unmanned light ships were introduced around the UK’s coasts as far back as 250 years ago, this original photograph, (which I own) was taken on the 19th July 1927.
The approaches to the Thames Estuary from the North Sea are littered with huge sand bars just beneath the seas surface, these sand bars are constantly moving, so light vessels were easy to reposition accordingly.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to use other photographers photographs in our challenge, and rightly so, but I thought this image was worth sharing.
A visit today to Shoe Repairs Southbourne Grove Westcliff to spend time with Peter, giving me the run of the premises. Many thanks Peter.1950s Approx cricket boot.
Saturday Self Challenge; Seat
The challenge for me was not in taking a photograph of the seat but in posting this version with the filtered background. I have a perfectly adequate photograph of the scene but in playing around in editing, found that I could add a filtered background. I'm never sure how much I'm cheating with an effect like this, but its vibrance appealed to me so I've taken the plunge and posted it. After all, it is called a Self-Challenge group...........

Saturday Self Challenge: Surprise
When we saw our 14 year old grandson just over two months ago, he was playing pleasant tunes on the piano, Returning this week, we were amazed to hear classical music wafting through the house. Here he playing the main theme from the movie "Interstellar". A most pleasant surprise indeed.
