Hi Bella!

OK.. this is in answer to my good friend Bella's challenge! No retouching.. no photoshop. All I did was to crop to a Flickr size! This was taken at 6:00 a.m. right after shower and getting ready for work..No flash.. just a light over my right shoulder. My arm out the window in the kitchen. I was browsing my contacts pics and came upon her challenge.. so Bella.. this is your fault..LMAO!

ps.. believe me this is a really quick shot.. I still had my reading glases on from reading Bella's challenge..lol

I challenge my contacts to this simple tag game..C'mon, please?! Show me your faces!

Challenge #167: Tracks: Evening photo. Becoming dark.

1973 Dodge Challenger at the Essen Motorshow.

I recently had a chance to spend a number of hours photographing Broad-Tailed hummingbirds in northern Colorado. What I have concluded, is that if these birds were any larger and carnivorous.....humans would not exist! These tiny and speedy birds are incredibly territorial and spend much of their day fighting over who should get to visit the feeders. One of my greatest photographic challenges is capturing these mighty little fighters with my camera. So much has to fall into place to be able to get 2 birds in focus in one image. This is why it takes hours of trying and waiting.

Challenge #172: Science & Technology: My son Nate is meticulous and he wired my network for me.

I composed this image in response to a Photography Challenge: develop a crreative image of a common object, in this case a rotary telephone.

Saturday Self Challenge: What is it

Getting as close as I possibly can on a circuit board, harvested from a remote-controlled power outlet whose remote went belly-up, capturing examples of tiny surface-mount devices, possibly resistors. The ruler scale at the bottom is in millimeters.

Taken with the Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens at 5X magnification. At that setting, the lens has to be less than an inch (25.4mm) from the subject, making lighting difficult. The lens and camera were attached to a macro focusing rail, a necessary but very finicky device (more so at extreme magnification) used to move the camera fore and aft to focus. Given my sometimes uncooperative set of hands I have, it was a challenge, indeed.

Challenge #198: Water

What it's like hanging out with a just barely turned 6-yr.-old.

The Challenge: Take a photo looking up.

I thought this would be easy but with grey skies etc, I didn't like any of my shots. I was out watering and casually took this pic looking up at my chimney pots, Thanks goodness the sky had cleared!!

Leica M10 | CV 35mm f1.7 Ultron

I belong to a group on Facebook called 52Frames where each week a challenge is give for a certain type of photograph. This weeks challenge was Bokeh and this was my top choice of all the photos I took. You can see a couple that did not make the cut in the comments below, plus the photo from yesterday. I liked this one because of the composition, the softer colors and the ornamental grass seed heads looked a bit like a Fleur-de-Lis. One of the more fun challenges! Next week it will be photographing a bathroom with an extra challenge being a public bathroom which.... Mmm. Not going to happen! LOL

Saturday Self Challenge: Surprise

When we saw our 14 year old grandson just over two months ago, he was playing pleasant tunes on the piano, Returning this week, we were amazed to hear classical music wafting through the house. Here he playing the main theme from the movie "Interstellar". A most pleasant surprise indeed.

The challenge this week is first signs of spring, well we have had howling gales and pouring rain but managed this shot of a plant that I have had in the garden for years, the leaves start appearing in spring.

Sorbaria “sem”

'Sem' is a small, compact selection, to 1.5m, of this thicket-forming shrub. It has many upright stems and a distinctive leaf colouring; yellow-green flushed with bright reddish-pink and bronze in spring. Leaves become greener in summer, but redden in autumn; colouring is best in good light. Flowers are borne in stiff, erect, rather narrow panicles of small white flowers in summer. Whilst it produces masses of coloured leaves mine has never flowered!

Thanks to all who visit and comment it is appreciated
