This was my first time ever to try photograph comet.
Tracking was not working after adjustments I made to mount. (One screw was loose). I got only a few shots after clouds filled the sky.
This is a single shot

I picked this 1980-ish mirror lens up on flea-bay, so it warrants the obligatory test. The green window near the centre has a bar down the centre.I guess that this is about 3 inches across.... roughly 2.5 km away. I get that this translates to the resolution being better than 6 arcseconds - comparable with what the 40D can achieve at this focal length. Don't let the lights fool you - these are heavily blown out (and they're not point sources anyway.) On the whole, I think it's quite excellent!

My first picture of Saturn through my 6" Celestron telescope! I blew it up a fair bit though. After cropping it was only about 177 pixels wide.

Moon, just before full moon. This was taken with a Nikon V1 attached to a Celestron D90. The image was corrected for focusing artefacts (due to atmospheric turbulence), noise reduced and contrast enhanced with Nikon's Capture NX2.

CGEM mount quit during the evening. Some of the Celestron people say it will take a few minutes to fix, others say six weeks. Which is it? Stay tuned. UPDATE: 9/2/09 The nice people at Celestron indicate a few days.
Needs new motor control circuit board and worm gear adjustment, labor time= about five minutes each.
