Various pics of my Oscilloscope computer case.
Started lfe as a 1960's vintage Bell and Howell Schools oscilloscope. Gutted it, added a $10 "plasma disk" in place of the old CRT tube display, did some Dremel'ing, sanding, hacksawing and drilling...and now it's a computer case.
The 'scope itself was about $10 on eBay, the motherboard/CPU is nothing special, a Celeron D 315 2.13ghz and all the other parts are spares, extras, and scavenged stuff from my scrap pile.
The front panel buttons and knobs operate the DVD-RW drive open/close, turning the display on/off, and the reset and power switches.

- No recuerdo el fondo de pantalla, pero me gusta su simpleza.

El hardware es una laptop Toshiba con 1.2GB de RAM, 256MB de video, Intel Celeron M y 60GB de HD.

This is the original case of my PC Gamerish Computer. That is the reason I call it Sleepy.
The case itself isn't that bad. With 4 3.5 bays in the very top that have 2x80mm fans across them it has adequate server cooling, but the gaming rig ran a bit hot. Plus, one fan died, and the other is slowly dying, so I need to have them replaced. It was annoying how loud this thing ran. I got the Xaser III and it is quieter with its 7 fans revved all the way up.

These older Celeron, P3 and P2 machines booted right into the Edubuntu LTSP server. These machines have no hard drives- everything is done on the server.
There was an old Nec powermate lying in the dust hosting that piece of xxxx aka Windows XP. Then came an idea, may be a bad one. Why not installing FreeBSD 11 on this old hardware (1Gb ram / 30Gb hdd / no dedicated graphics / Intel Celeron 2.4GHz)
