today was my dad's fifty-sixth birthday. i, of course, forgot my camera this morning when i left the house, so the only thing i have is this picture of the ceiling fan in our bedroom which does literally nothing to mitigate the heat, & i do mean nothing.
when i was nineteen (on my dad's forty-fifth birthday), we were not on speaking terms. it had something to do with my being lippy with my mom (WHO COULD IMAGINE SUCH A THING) & my dad getting pissed & password-protecting my computer so i couldn't access it. i still have the overblown post i wrote about it -- oh the angst, oh the drama -- b/c i was convinced that i would never trust him again, & it hurt me way more than any fight with my mom b/c my mom & i always were kind of snippy with one another, but i always felt like my dad just "got" me & was secretly on my side (hint: probably not, i was kind of a jerk) & when he stuck up for my mom when i was giving her 'tude, oh man, i felt so betrayed. i think i didn't leave my room for three days (during daylight hours), though i must've slunk out of there to use the bathroom at some point. it was definitely a low point.
Alex met up with me to work on a video at Breukelen Coffee House. She edited, I art directed.
There was a lot of low light in the back of the cafe, but it did add to some pretty sweet shadows.
I was eating lunch and playing with my phone taking pictures. It was warm in the house so I turned my ceiling fan on..I tried to get a pic of the macaw that is on the end of one of the pull chains and got this.. I liked it so here it is, my #44
The orange is quite soothing. That block on the wall is uplighting. Not super happy with the end result, but it'll do for now. Living Room

Sure it looks big now, but wait until myself and two other teachers are sharing this room and I am sure it is going to get small REALLY fast. Part of me is totally excited about this move because it is something different, and another part of me is freaking out!

This was one of the funniest things! I just climbed up on a chair and put Coraline up on the fan! Funny!
This was the room we stayed in on our first night in Saint John. It was called the Veranda Room. It was actually a huge beautiful room, but I liked how this photo turned out... It kinda feels like our time there. It was sooo rainy and dark out. We arrived around 4 in the afternoon, had a bath, and fell asleep until almost 9! And then we had quite a time trying to find dinner that late... But we did, eventually.
