These were neat.
A modern reconstruction of an old fashioned belt driven ceiling fan system. The leather belts crossed between rooms, with the one motor (on right) to run a total of six fans in two rooms.
I shot some AVI movies of this fan system. I wish there was a way to share one. The motion and subtle sounds of the belt drives are enchanting.
This photo is unaltered.
Installation of a wall in the JB HiFi store on Elizabeth and Lonsdale Streets, city. Note they went around any potential obstruction, including this ceiling fan which simply had a blade removed!
Max was jumping around and punched it by accident. It broke. Then Rush decided to rip it clean out of the ceiling. We figured perhaps we should try to fix it.
Day 2 of the July Challenge.
This is a slightly long exposure of the light/fan in my bedroom. I was curious how the bright lights would affect the surrounding fan blades. It turns out that the light dies off pretty quick. At first, I converted this one to b/w, but it looked too flat and dull. Just this little bit of off-white color brought it back to life.
Some shelves are still stocked, I believe the thing atop the glass snuff glasses on the top shelf is a card of corncob pipes.
J.C. Brown General Store Since 1898
Has been closed nearly 40 years. Once it was West Huntsville's General Store. Cotton Mill workers and workers from Martin's Stove plant used to go there every friday to cash their paychecks and pick up a few groceries. Brown's carried groceries, ice cold bottled drinks like coke, R.C.'s and double colas, a meat department, hardware carrying everything from fireplace grates to nails and horseshoes, tabacco like cigars, cigarettes and snuff, they had a candy counter and just about anything anyone might need, so it seemed at the time anyway.
Today I drove by Brown's and found the door standing open, I had to stop. Mr. Brown's son was fixing a few things up and he allowed me to roam around and soak up a few memories and take a few pictures. It made my day, some stock still remains on shelves, the cashier's area is the same as I remembered it, the huge old safe is still there.. the many ceiling fans are quiet, no more workers line up on payday.. but it was nice to revisit yesterday.

We were waiting for the meal at Coffee Blossom restaurant, Club Mahindra Resort, Coorg and I saw this ceiling fan. The light and background made it spectacular.
I was setting up shots and letting my neice hit the button, she wanted to point the camera at the ceiling, so I lined this up real quick and she clicked. I really like it.
#Ceiling - Ceiling fan with chandelier shades can reduce or illuminate the light provided by a lamp and ceiling fan should also reflect the atmosphere of the room provided. The fan blades that are already present should also coordinate with the new tones to create a pleasant impression in general.
