“It’s amazing to slip into someone else’s privacy like this. A few feet away is the rarest of entities- another being who believes himself to be alone. I mean, yes, okay, we are probably not, when alone, profoundly or maybe even noticeably different, but how can you know that, really, about anyone, save yourself? Isn’t this part of what you keep looking for in art- rescue from solitude and subjectivity; the sense of company in history and the greater world; the human mystery simultaneously illuminated and deepened: by Giotto’s expelled Adam and Eve, by Rembrandt’s final self-portraits, by Walker Evan’s photos from Hale County. The art of the past tried to give us something like what’s happening to Peter right now- a look into the depths of the human other.”

Long shot of the painted ceiling fan and the light shades that I painted with glass paint

Barn Light Electric was proud to provide light fixtures and ceiling fans for the house. Shown here is the Industrial Bullet Ceiling Light. The Bullet is a great compact flush mount fixture when you need illumination, but don't want a traditional hanging pendant. Similar to the other downstairs lighting in the Vision House, the Bullet takes its style from mid-20th Century industrial explosion proof lighting, with a cast guard and glass. And I have to say, this is a pretty swanky little room.

We definitely missed spring here in the tropics and most days are already 30-32C. No rain in sight - very sad.

All the fans are on all day with every French door open to catch the light tropical breeze that tends to pick up around 10-11am.

This is the view I had most of these weeks whilst recovering.

The front and back atriums ceilings are 18ft in the air. As owner builders it sure was fun to have the scaffolding to plaster those walls. We hired good contractors to help us with this 2nd mammoth house we built.

Living in the garage for a year and being on site was the best time of our lives.

Never forget though when it was time to put the roof on we had 28 wet days that particular month. Yeh...Murphy's Law.

But we finished in the 6 months time frame.

Time to open the windows to let the hot air out. This year we definitely have to hire someone to be on the roof to clean these windows. Not for me anymore :)

Isn't it fabulous when you have to rough it?

Hey and no need to comment on this photo either.

Barn Light Electric was proud to provide light fixtures and ceiling fans for the house. Shown here is a very special products of ours: Two of our Goodrich™ Dino Porcelain Enamel Goosenecks (in black and custom mounted). Porcelain enamel shades were most commonly used in commercial settings (If you ever see an old gas station, take a look around! You might see one of these babies hanging around) from the 1930s-1960s. Known for their durability, ability to withstand harsh weather environments, and lack of color fade over decades, porcelain enamel fixtures are now being used for the home. The other great thing about porcelain enamel? Just take a soapy cloth, wipe it down, and you're done! Now that's my kind of cleaning.

Checking out a book I got at a garage sale to possibly sell online (I sell books on Amazon). Interesting reading to say the least.

I put the first coat of brown paint on the fan blades today. I like the shade of brown on the middle blade best, but it's spray paint, and 2 seconds after I'd laid it in the grass and started painting it 85 gnats landed on it and proceeded to get stuck, causing me to try to save them but resulting in me just squishing them. Eeeerrrghhhhh!!!!

Still, I think the darker brown will work best in the bedroom. I'm planning to add gold swirls, but that will take some practice. :-)

Summer after summer I've dealt with crazy hot heat without a ceiling fan. Well, no more, my friends, no more! Today I had this wonderful ceiling fan/boob installed. I'm sorry, but every time I see light fixtures that look like this I think that is looks like a boob...I mean lets be real here...it looks like a boob! If you've never thought that before...you will from now on. And for those of you who did think this before...thank you for agreeing with me.

My nice ceiling fans is in every room of the house. Beautiful mahogany color.

I was testing out a high shutter-speed. I like the composition of this photo ^_^ I know it's just a dumb ceiling fan.

Warm color, it was bloody cold at that time though

For some reason, I like taking pictures of ceiling fans. This one's in Ashley's kitchen.

(Don't just look at the thumbnail :) )

I got less than 2 hours of sleep on Friday. I must still be tired because I keep finding myself staring at my ceiling fan today.

Assignment 2. Trance. We were watching a Fatboy Slim video and Ericka suggested this one. I think it could mean a lot of things to alot of people, and you know how we enjoy those. Tag with cwd702.

We just got a new mirror for our dining area and it's on the floor for the time being. Every time I walk by the table I see my big belly and finally decided last night to take a picture of it with the rebel on timer mode. (This caption is rather old; I have since had the baby, thank goodness.)
