7:30 in the morning and I'm lying in my bed staring up at my ceiling trying to look at only one blade of my fan....
it was harder than i thought. so i took a picture of it =)
oh and yes, those are glow in the dark stars on my ceiling =)
Rusted Steel Ceiling in the Bathroom.
Athol House is on Houghton Drive in Jozi. I saw a photograph of this abandoned house earlier the week on Urbex and hunted it down. It quite easy to find as it is close to the M1 highway taking the 11th Avenue off-ramp. The house has been completely gutted with only the shell remaining amongst all the stately homes in this up-market suburb. All the floorboards, doors, and fitting have been removed.
It looks as if other surrounding properties were demolished some time ago, maybe to build a cluster development or something similar. Seems as if the developer has gone bust and only the ruin of Athol House now remains

Taken using a tripod to show the wonderful decoration of the roof for the nave of Wells Cathedral.
Wells allows you to buy a license for the day which allows you to use the tripod and camera freely (with limited restrictions such as during services). This modest sum assists their finances and allows the beauties of this wonderful building to be captured.
I love escaped balloons, when I'm in shopping centres that sell them I always have a wee scan for balloons. They carry with them a wee bit of sadness, cause you know only a short time before some child was freaking out at having lost it.
Habitations in Costa Rica are roofed most often with sheet metal. Add a tropical downpour and you have tinnitus. And so there are many variations on rain noise abatement - this is one of the prettiest we encountered at the Chilamate Rainforest Eco-Retreat, a great place to stay if in the Sarapiqui region. The lumber is the waste generated squaring logs - in keeping with the ethos of the lodge.

When I looked up I saw a vision. Because my eyes were open and I was seeing the bottom of the roof (ceiling).

Westminster RC Cathedral was designed by architect John Bentley. The building was started in 1895, completed in 1903, and consecrated in 1910. The style is known as 'Edwardian Blood & Bandages' for obvious reasons, and is built of red brick with stone banding. The cathedral has the widest nave of any church in England. The decoration of the interior is ongoing. The plan was for the lower part to be covered in marble with mosaics above. The marbling is complete - using over 100 different types of marble - the decoration of the side chapels is largely finished, but if you look up in the main part of the building you are met with dark, gloomy brick. Despite this the building is extremely impressive, and very beautiful. The feeling in the Cathedral is that of a peaceful, prayerful, living church. Well worth a visit.
