Majorette are a very forward thinking toy company who rather like Welly are usually quick to bring out new versions of certain vehicles much quicker than others who are happy to continue making the originals for years after the real vehicle has been superseded! There are many examples of this in the Majorette line up including the Porsche Cayenne which can be seen in its second generation guise and looking all the better for it with its noticeably smoother looking body. Looking particularly smart in this matte dark grey finish its a superb example of the care and attention Majorette devotes even to its mainline products with its superior levels of detailing and all round good build quality. Bought from Poundworld back in August 2016. Mint and boxed.
With the ever increasing dominance of Mattel and our own HTI in supplying our big chain retailers with 1/64 diecasts its not always easy to find products from other smaller toy makers. Since September 2016 and for reasons unknown to me Wilkinsons have virtually replaced HTI as their previous source of budget in house branded models with the products of Suntoys. The majority are either larger scale stuff or cheapo low end 1/64 models in the same vein as Summer but thankfully they also sell as singles a small range of licensed castings which they have been making for the past five years or so. Pretty much all of them apart from the Citroen C4 can be found in Wilkinsons and for the sub Mattel price make a nice alternative from the usual big boys. I managed to grab a few of these little Porsche Cayenne models and although I don't think they will make Majorette or Welly lose sleep they are definitely good enough to be official Porsche products. The body is nicely accurate and well cast plus you get a full array of painted detailing to lights and badges plus a realistic interior and a well applied metallic grey finish. The only downside of course is that for the duration of this range being available in Wilkinsons which could be for the next few years I don't expect to see any new castings or recolours! Realtoy Porsche Cayenne, one of their earlier licensed castings when they decided to go legit. Almost too well detailed and accurate for their own good considering their bargain prices at the time!
A recent charity shop found gift.
I consider myself to be quite a big fan of Matchbox so was quite surprised to realise when I bought this Porsche Cayenne Turbo model the other day that the casting is actually nearly 10 years old! I can't believe i've never seen it before!
This appears to be the latest version in a nice deep red metallic colour with great detailing and fashionable black alloy effect wheels.
Mint and boxed.
The Cayenne Turbo is the fastest car in his class, the best I think. A beautiful car business but very athletic, a great combination!

Years ago the idea of a Porsche badged SUV would have sent shivers down the spines of purists but time has told us the World was indeed ready for a series of them such has been the success of the Cayenne and its smaller brother the Macan. Toy makers of all descriptions soon brought out their own 1/64 versions of the Cayenne including of course Matchbox. This absolutely stunning metallic maroon version appeared back in 2013 and for the time being appears to have been the last recolour of it so maybe its due for another one soon. This version was a mainstay on Poundland pegs probably right up until 2015 but I actually found this one back in July 2016 in a small Northern department store chain called Boyes. They have their own toy department selling the usual Chinese off brand fodder but also have a small selection of HW and MBX which are usually at least two or more years old probably because they arn't priced particularly competitively and not a natural destination if you are diecast hunting. I'm glad I managed to get another one of these though as the casting itself dates back to a golden era of Matchbox with its unabashed realism and first rate quality. The styling is absolutely spot on, detailing top notch and that paint finish is a joy to behold. Mint and boxed.
