Cats were happy that some of the catnip from last year grew back!

I bought a packet of catnip today and when I came in from the car I bundled all my stuff into a shopping bag along with my scarf.

Sitting watching some Olympic action and I hear some funny business in the bedroom.

The catnip clearly had holes in it and Thomas was getting high - he licked my scarf - gross!

I found a sizable patch of this plant growing in a local park. Don't remember finding it in the wild before. No cats around. It's a member of the mint family.

Edwina has got wind of her Christmas gift inside the bag, from a shop appropriately called Paw Paw. Like all self-respecting cats, she is driven crazy by the aroma of catnip.

catnip, as it must look to a cat who's had a leeetle bit too much

My cats really like the Yeowww!! catnip toys, and the cigar toy is a good shape and size - but brown cylinders on the carpet are ... alarming. They now have "It's a girl!/ It's a boy!" cigar toys that are just as fun for the cats and much better colors for me. These pix were after they had been playing with the toys for a while - Pepper is euphorically blissed out, Tikki is having a bit of a paranoid trip and is guarding hers. (When they first started playing, each was quite happily engrossed with its toy and they were quite close to each other - then they decided they had to squabble and separated, each grabbing the toy the other one had first.)

Lucky and Hugo are getting big enough now that they blend in with the others.
