the small cast was removed july 6. i now have a piece of hard plastic held on with velcro strips which i remove several times a day for exercise.
my hand was (unsurprisingly) super skinny. you can see a bit of the bumpy red skin on my forearm which, thankfully, went away quickly.

This was left behind on the mantel of a bedroom in an old house outside of Stewart Ohio. I sort of like it, but like anything I find in these abandoned places, I left it where it was.

The first day with my purple short leg cast (SLC) — and the first day of the year. A fresh start in every sense.
In this video, you see me moving carefully through the kitchen on crutches, adjusting to life non-weight-bearing. I also show the twisted, slightly unnatural axis of my foot inside the rigid SLC — fixed in place, unable to move.
It’s day one of cast life. A new year, a new limitation, and the beginning of learning how to adapt.

This guy was entertaining the kids with a version of 'Simon Says', unfortunately some of the younger contestants didn't quite understand when they were 'out' so there ended up being several winners :)
A quick test of the foam casting boxes for work. These allow a template of the foot to be taken, and then these can be turned into orthotics. Great stuff to use and feels funny between your toes!
I printed last night for the first time in two weeks -- I was painfully slow. Only one color (red, obviously) completed in a time span during which I can usually do five. But I did it.
I was also very messy. I am going to go put on my bag and shower now.
Edited: Ink gone. Kinda sad... between that and the cast, I looked much tougher than usual.
