“As it was an entirely personal project," explains Roger, "I would hope it reflects my personality and interests – things like type, brand strategy and development, historical and pop culture references, packaging, posters, robots, monsters, time travel, irony, and conversely when appropriate, earnestness.”

For his Branding 2 project, Robert Soo chose to brand the identity of a Vancouver waterfront boutique hotel. Like the land itself, the Loft logo is dynamic and mutable, capable of varying moods. The logo makes use of a variety of backings drawn from landscape paintings in the public domain that capture the majesty of the local environment. These various paintings are unified together by the Loft symbol within them that uses the paintings as a frame. The brand package consists of competitive analysis, moodboards, environment design, logo design and miscellaneous branded applications.

Thank you Alice.

Roger Dario’s graduate project — “Standard Scientifical Industries” — is silly. With a product line that includes Hitler Assassination Kits, Folding Quarantine Chambers, and Deus Ex Machina in a box, it’s satiric and inspiring. It’s as inventive as it is nostalgic. Part Nickelodeon, part Adbusters, part 1950s propaganda, it’s a shining testament to Roger’s skills and voice as a designer.

House was designed and built by Arts & Architecture Case Study architect David Beverley Thorne in around 1964, for the Western Division President of the US Steel Corporation, Loren J. Westhaven. The house is built entirely of steel, and was erected and welded together by both Thorne and Westhaver themselves.

It's been modified on the exterior considerably since it was originally built, to have a more "traditional" look , with more walls and smaller windows. Original design was clean octogon with louvered window walls.

Isn't that cantilevered deck amazing?

This house is just across the street and a few houses south of the house we rented (which was itself an architectural treasure - a 1959 Vladimir Ossipoff design)

Daybreak is a master-planned community designed using a traditional neighborhood development model (TND) which means that all homes within the community are within a five-minute walk or bike ride of a major amenity such as a park, the lake, or a shopping area, reducing resident's dependence on automobile travel and providing the opportunity for a healthier lifestyle.

Daybreak was ranked as the 6th Best Selling Master Planned Community in the Nation for 2009.

Personnel from the Forest Service and partner agencies gathered Aug. 8, 2017 to study and discuss decisions made and consequences of the Mormon Fire of 2016. The gathering was used as a learning opportunity for future fire managers and other personnel involved in making decisions about how to manage wildfires. Various locations were visited to illustrate different decision points during the fire and give participants a better idea of what types of landscape and challenges fire managers might face. For her graduate project at VFS Digital Design, Ileana Hierro created “Sandbox”, a global non-profit organization that aims to strengthen communities by creating green spaces for children. Ileana conceptualized the initiative, and created the logo, brand identity, various branded applications, the comprehensive brand guide and the compelling ad campaign.
