Taken for the Grove Art Centre photo club, theme this week is 'play with light and dark'.
Photo location is the very lovely Frogmore which is lit beautifully by the shared environment. It is sweet, colourful, wild and feels like a warm hug. I couldn't use it for this shot but it's definitely worth seeing for yourself.
I went for a wander around one of the nearby fields, hoping to grab a few Lapwing photos. Sorry, I got carried away ;)
With the first snowmelt, this mountain stream in the Vosges also carries more water than during the summer months.

St. Panteleimon Cathedral is an Orthodox cathedral in the Kyiv suburb of Feofania. The main temple of the women's St. Panteleimon monastery. Construction was carried out in 1905-1912 according to the design of the architect E. F. Ermakov in Feofaniya (southern suburb of Kyiv) on the territory of a men's monastery assigned to the Kyiv St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery.
It was built in 1905-1912 according to the project of architect E. F. Yermakov in Feofania (southern suburb of Kyiv) on the territory of the men's hermitage assigned to the Kyiv-Mikhaylovsky Golden-Top Monastery.
In the 1920s, the cathedral was looted and closed by the Soviet authorities. During the Great Patriotic War, the cathedral was also damaged by mortar shelling.
In 1990, the cathedral building in a deplorable condition was handed over to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. During 1990-1998 the cathedral was completely restored inside and out and in 1998 was consecrated by Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine. In 1993, the cathedral with buildings and land was transferred to the Pokrovsky Convent for the purpose of forming a hermitage.

The late evening sun is illuminating PKP Cargo 370 016 (or 193 504 if you prefer in the LZB numbering series) as it approaches the stop of Pouzdřany with an empty car train.
PKP Cargo locomotives aren't particularly common along Track 250 - certainly I haven't seen one along here in the trips I have had - so this was a welcome first for me!
370 016/193 504 is one of the early batch of PKPC Vectrons from 2015 and still carries the 'as built' red detailing. Some of the newer machines have had the red changed to blue as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of PKPC.

as strong as you were, tender you go
I’m watching you breathing, for the last time
a song for your heart, but when it is quiet
I know what it means and I’ll carry you home
I’ll carry you home.
Probably Saint Joachim, father of Mary. Would make sense, the church is called "Assumption of Mary". The window was made in the 19th-century.

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream.

Tuesday was my first day back at work and it all went very well. One of my favorite things to do when I first get to work is to fold all the clean towels that the techs who work overnight launder. That morning I carried several loads of clean, but unfolded towels, out to a counter in the treatment area and then started talking to someone. When I returned to the towels, I found Alexander Hamilton had tunneled his way into the middle of the pile and had fallen asleep.

This ship ran aground on a sand bar on Goswick beach, just north of Holy Island, on 14th January 1913, whilst carrying ballast from Stettin (part of Germany at the time, but now the city of Szcezecin, Poland) to Newcastle. Earlier info. was that she was reputed to have been scuppered following reports that she was on route to supply her cargo of iron ore to German factories which had been building up in their preparations for the start of World War 1. All 17 crew members were saved.

Making bricks is a common activity on the highlands of the Madagascar. The clay used to make the bricks is taken from the rice fields and this extraction contribute to the degradation of the soil of the rice fields. But also it is necessary to burn lot of firewood to fuel the kilns and this contribute enormously to the deforestation of the island.
