"Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more."
I agree I got carried away with the associations I had during experimenting with different screws, light sources and backgrounds (most of the images won't be seen here).
It was fun using the new light tape (it can be switched to different colours) that my husband brought home for (especially) macro work.
The four screws here were placed on a shiny plastic bag for reflections plus one on top. There are black cards in the background to darken the scene.
HMM to all participants 💙💙💙
♫ I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world

🎶 RUELLE - CARRY YOU - ft FLEURIE
Lyrics
I know it hurts
It's hard to breathe sometimes
These nights are long
You've lost the will to fight
Is anybody out there?
Can you lead me to the light?
Is anybody out there?
Tell me it'll all be alright
You are not alone
I've been here the whole time singing you a song
I will carry you
I will carry you
I know you can't remember how to shine
Your heart's a bird without the wings to fly
Is anybody out there?
Can you take this weight of mine?
Is anybody out there?
Can you lead me to the light?
You are not alone
I've been here the whole time singing you a song
I will carry you
I will carry you
A resident bird of the jungles and forests at higher altitude found in our neighbouring state. They were everywhere and unlike their common cousins, the common Myna, these birds are relatively quiet and mostly minding their own business.
We saw several in the forest we visited last week. Almost all of them were busy carrying food several times to their chicks. The nests were inside tree burrows - which we could see - but we could not see the chicks. The birds were quite wary as the area had lots of predators. We sighted several Malabar Pied Hornbills, Rufous Bellied Eagles, Hobby, Falcons etc... The Mynas were landing on multiple perches before going on to their nests so as to deter the predators.
Thank you so much in advance for your views and feedback.

“I had two dreams about him after he died. I dont remember the first one all that well but it was about meetin him in town somewheres and he give me some money and I think I lost it. But the second one it was like we was both back in older times and I was on horseback goin through the mountains of a night. Goin through this pass in the mountains. It was cold and there was snow on the ground and he rode past me and kept on goin. Never said nothin. He just rode on past and he had this blanket wrapped around him and he had his head down and when he rode past I seen he was carryin fire in a horn the way people used to do and I could see the horn from the light inside of it. About the color of the moon. And in the dream I knew that he was goin on ahead and that he was fixin to make a fire somewhere out there in all that dark and all that cold and I knew that whenever I got there he would be there. And then I woke up.”

I was going to post something spooky and wish people a Happy Halloween but I can't bring myself to do so having seen the news from South Korea.
My thoughts are with all those caught up in and affected by the horrific incident in Itaewon, Seoul, during what should have been a night of fun.
Stay safe my Flickr friends.

Time decides who you meet in your life,
Your heart decides who you want to carry with you in your life
and your behavior decides who stays in your life.
Another resident swallow in the area we visited, this is a beautiful bird a bit smaller than a sparrow. They are easily confused for the common Barn Swallow (by me atleast) and I identified them only after seeing the pictures.
The birds are in their peak nesting season so they capture several insects in flight and carry them back with their mouths full.
A large number of these birds were nesting under a bridge over an overflowing reservoir after the heavy rains this month. They were 100's of them and despite my best efforts it was incredibly tough to get a few good shots of it in flight. Very agile, unpredictable turns, and fast flyer.
Thank you in advance for your views and feedback.

The Maudaiae type of Paphhiopedilum, single flowered hybrid called after one of the first, and most delightful, hybrids made within this group. Their oval leaves are attractively mottled in green and gray-green, sometimes darkly peppered on the undersides, and their elegant flowers, carried proudly on tall, slender stems.

Intelligent....resourceful...fearless, the Carrion Crow is probably the most intelligent of the Corvids, they never miss a trick, always ready to capitalise on any situation that might benefit themselves.
They're also brilliant at chasing off birds of prey you've spent considerable time getting close enough to photograph....!!!
Photographically underrated....I think.
I haven’t been on for a few days, basically because they’ve been rather fraught. A dear one passed away on Saturday and I didn’t feel like coming on until today when I felt that carrying on and doing what I loved was a good way to honour her passing.
"The Happy Family" is a renowned painting created by the Dutch artist Jan Steen. Painted during the 17th century, Steen was known for his ability to capture scenes of everyday life with a touch of humor and wit. "The Happy Family" exemplifies his style and showcases his talent for storytelling within a single image.
In this painting, Steen depicts a bustling household filled with various members of a family engaged in different activities. The composition is lively and intricate, presenting a chaotic yet harmonious scene. Steen's attention to detail is evident as he portrays each character with unique facial expressions and body language, adding depth and personality to the painting.
At the center of the composition, a jovial couple sits at a table, surrounded by their children and other relatives. The scene is filled with laughter, lively conversation, and playful interactions. The family members engage in various activities, such as eating, drinking, playing music, and engaging in games. Steen's use of vibrant colors and intricate brushwork further enhances the joyful atmosphere of the painting.
Despite the apparent chaos, "The Happy Family" also carries a deeper message. It serves as a reminder of the importance of familial bonds and the joys of shared moments. Steen's portrayal of the diverse characters and their interactions reflects the complexities and dynamics of family life. Through his portrayal, he highlights both the humorous and challenging aspects of domesticity.
"The Happy Family" is a testament to Jan Steen's skill as a painter and his ability to capture the essence of human experience. It continues to be appreciated for its rich storytelling, vibrant imagery, and its ability to evoke a range of emotions from viewers. The painting stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of art that celebrates the joys and challenges of family life.
