Capture The Flag - February 2012
I met these amazing guys today while I was on my way to target, they asked me to buy a cd. I had never heard of them, but I listened to their cd and they're an amazing underground band from Oregon! So, I asked them if I could do some promo pictures and they agreed!! I had a great time getting to know them a little tonight, they are a cool group and hopefully will see them again/take more pictures when they come back in April! :)

The day after I captured this photo, Los Angeles and San Diego school districts announced that students would not return to classrooms in August 2020 as previously planned. Kids will study online instead, as they had been since late March when Governor Gavin Newsom essentially closed California in response to the so-called pandemic. Rising number of SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2), also known as COVID-19, has spooked the school districts. Maybe Alice Cooper has more sense (fridayswithalice.com/schools-out-schools-for-summer/).
There is nothing like the art of understatement. From the LA-SD joint statement: “This announcement represents a significant disappointment for the many thousands of teachers, administrators, and support staff, who were looking forward to welcoming students back in August. It is obviously an even greater disappointment to the many parents who are anxious for their students to resume their education. Most of all, this decision will impact our students in ways that researchers will take years to understand”.
S-o-o-o, the economic tsunami will wash over administrative personnel, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, and educators for starters. Then there are parents who may not be able to return to work and crippling of the economy that supports their kids, like suppliers of cafeteria food, back-to-school clothes, computers, electronic devices, pens, paper, and more. The list is enormous; it’s an iceberg, with most of the mass invisible but absolutely enormous beneath the surface. Pardon the mixed metaphors.
Merseyrails units are currently the oldest stock in daytime use on the network, The Class 507's dating back to 1977, and the Class 508's four years younger. But Merseyrail doesn't have enough storeage space for the incoming 777's alongside the existing fleet, so off they go for recycling!

Capturing the emotion during dance is always fun to try. I like to add off camera flash and try to time it so the couple will be somewhere I can see the starburst. Here I was using a blue gel on the dance floor on one flash during the reception.
There are many neon signs competing for your attention on this Main Street of Yokohama Chinatown. One of the neon signs caught her eyes and I caught her expression with my camera!
This ad for the Capture Cincinnati contest appeared in the Community Journal. Yep, that's my little girl in the peacock costume.
For the second year in a row, I've entered the Capture Cincinnati competition in hopes of being published in the book. Last year 6 of my photos were published and one was chosen as the best in its chapter.

UPDATE: So far I've found or heard about this in the Clermont Community Journal, Milford-Miami Advertiser and CIN Weekly. Anyone seen it anywhere else?
Out of curiosity, I thought I would check out what others were doing with the same camera as I'm using at the moment.
What I found was a bit of a let down to say the least and certainly not very encouraging for the other 32 users who uploaded shots yesterday.
Good thing I have a thick skin and not easily offended :)
OK, let the comments commence, LOL.
I warn you though, I luv my little Olympus and will have to defend it's honour ;-)
"What are you up to Bane? What haven't you killed me already?"
Bane: "We're just using you as bate."
"What do you mean?!"

Bane: "Only I know it mr Wayne. My people aren't allowed to come in this room."
"Well how generous..."
Bane: "Don't worry mr Wayne, it's going to be fun when you're Batboy arrives."

*Bane leaves and closes door*
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN????!!!"
Okay, now some racers. This wasn't a really serious race. Many people had strange and interesting costumes. The format of the race is that each racer has their buddy and for every leg of the course they switch who rides and who runs. Each leg ends with an obstacle to overcome. At the finish line, there's a giant mudpit, hence the name Muddy Buddy.
