Trying to figure out myself whether or not Capture One renders RAWs better than Lightroom, like the word on the internet is.
Lightroom on the left, Capture One on the right.
Capture One seems to create a smoother image in this 200% zoomed comparison. The "Lightroom bubbly noise pattern" is missing from the Cap One render. You'll need to zoom in to see the difference clearly.
Also red, blues and pinks are clearly rendered in a slightly different manner than in Lightroom.
This weekend, I've been to Bristol's Baloon Fiesta and I didn't think there would be so many baloons and the event was much bigger than I expected! Such a nice day. I'll post more photos later. This was one my favourites, though.
A wingless German aeroplane is loaded on to a trailer and strapped down. It still has its original painted insignia and number. Two soldiers are standing behind the plane inspecting it.
Scenes such as this were commonly used as propaganda, intended to reaffirm resolve against the enemy.
[Original reads: 'OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN ON THE FRONT IN FRANCE. A captured German aeroplane.']
‘Men will be men’
An interesting capture from one of the parties I recently covered. If you look closely, the image reflects so many shades of men. The thinker, the friend, the poser, the drinkers. What are your views about this picture? Do you agree with me?
Feel free to tag yourself and your friends in the images.

I heard a noise in my kitchen and found this witch rummaging through my cupboards. Since I was afraid that she might bite me, I put on my oven mitt and grabbed her. Let me tell you, it was a good thing I thought of using the mitt; she fought, bit, and screamed like a banshee. I just wish I had thought of wearing earplugs too!
Three celery green pearls are captured within a handmade copper pendant. The pendant hangs from a sterling silver chain. The metals have been oxidized and buffed to expose a soft shine.
... found out about this just today. Thank you all so much for your favourites and comments! I really really appreciate it!

This bronze cannon was captured at the battle of Sevastopol, during the Crimean War, and was brought back to Ludlow, England in 1855.
On 5 November 1854 the Russians marched out of the besieged city of Sevastopol to throw off the allied British and French forces by mounting a joint attack with their troops from outside the city. Despite outnumbering their enemies five to one the Russians failed to achieve victory in what looked to be almost a foregone conclusion. The third major action of the Crimean War (following Alma and Balaclava), the battle fought in heavy fog at Inkerman proved to be a testament to the skill and initiative of the individual men and officers of the British Army of the day.

This build was inspired by medieval cryptids known as “wild men” or “woodwose,” which were very hairy humanoids who lived in the forest and shunned human society.
According to legend, hunters would attempt to capture these wild men by luring them with alcohol, getting them drunk, tying them up, and then trying to extract whatever secret knowledge the wild men might posses.
“It once happened in that country (and this seems indeed strange) that a living creature was caught in the forest as to which no one could say definitely whether it was a man or some other animal; for no one could get a word from it or be sure that it understood human speech. It had the human shape, however, in every detail, both as to hands and face and feet; but the entire body was covered with hair as the beasts are”

One of my photos from when my Soviet unit got captured at the Mariongrad tactical reenactment, in Marion, KY. When we were first captured, they took the bag that had my camera in it, so after we were finished, I had everyone do it again, so I could get photos.
It's always quiet in the 5th Atelier. Some might say too quiet. But despite the silence, these three manage to find simple joys in each other's company.
Today they tried to make use of a vintage camera sitting on the shelf.
