~ ...capturing feelings ~

~ ...what would be we do without photography?

~ ....it's really astonishing when we realise how much of our world, what we use and surrounds us is made and based on pictures!

~....this is an ode to the art of photography

~....celebrated through wonderful pictures you've made.

This is to thank just a couple of the wonderful people I've met here, while creating a collage with pictures who touch my feelings and my senses.

So, here we go:

Dear Fabio, thank you for being so kind as to share the way you feel about my approach in decorating spaces, leaving such wonderful comments under pictures of my stream. The fact that my work can have an impact on lives of people who I've never met, creates feelings quite new to me. I'm astonished at the power a picture may have, but most of all I'm amazed at the power of human connection.

It's really an honour that such a fabulous couple with great taste as you two, consider passing by here for inspiration.

I 've been admiring your work ever since we somehow met, for is tenderness, decent sensuality and wonderful use of tones.Victoria, thank you for leaving often so many wonderful comments on my stream and congratulations on you being an amazing photographer.

Barbara, thank you for writing such a nice testimonial about me. You are in fact a great person and talented photographer yourself. And I adore your Lambrador to bits!...as much as a few other favorite flickr dogs, belonging to flickr friends (Vanessa's Vivi, Emma's Spanner, Yvonne's George....to name a few)

Kelven, thank you for being a really good and encouraging friend. Your talent simply amazes me and I particularly like your online presence. With a huge delay of discovering it (thanks to being tagged yesterday by Smaranda & having a look at pictures of "myself", I stampled upon your picture!), thank's for tagging me and having the willingness to find out more things about me. I shall do so soon, promise to you both.

Cindy, you are simply an amazing photogrpaher. I admire your soft and feminine style which is also so strong at the same time.

Sweet Beverly, your approach to life, your courage and your enthusiasm, your ability to see blessings everywhere are remarkable. And so is your photography.

Theresa, no words can describe the marvelous person that you are. Your photography is a source of wisdom and an adventure of the soul while the eyes are pleased. I'm ever thankful to have met you.

Ciel, I have enjoyed so much cooperating with you these past weeks in our attemp to raise awareness about causes we both care, I really miss it!

Carmen, thank you for being so enthusiastic about my stream and also having chosen two of my Happy Bench Monday shots for the group' s "FP". You are a beautiful woman and a great photographer. I love the tones you choose and the overall feel of your pictures.

I could have refered to more people, but I would probably need all day for that and I really must work. I'm trying really hard to keep up with all the streams I'm following, so I also apologise to those people who have recently added me and I have not responded. I consider it rather impossible to follow all or most of the 1477 people who have added me so far as a contact. Taking my contacts seriously requires a lot of time, which simply doesn't always exist.

Keeping a good healthy balance between real and online life requires a lot of effort. And part of being true, is admiting that however connected I'm to a lot of you here, there are days and times when simply being disconnected is a pleasure and an actual need.

So, wishing you all the nicest of Thursdays, till later when I'll be able to take my strolls here.

About being tagged, I feel I've said and shared so much through this collage today, that it can wait a little...sparing you from more of my ramblings ;-)

Be well & take care

Love,

Ivy ~ xx

Story:

Even Piell was on a secret mission on Cardia to find out where the seperatists have their new outpost. On his way he got captured by the droids and they stole him his holocron. Now the republic is coming....

I purchased these inexpensive mirrors at Target and painted the frames the other day. They will go into the garden to capture light and, of course, to reflect nature. When I laid the green framed mirror on the table to dry, I noticed I captured the sky. When I completed all three mirror frames, I laid them on the stones and saw a reflection face-two eyes and a mouth!

So we went out to this one park and unknowingly ended up in this part with a creek in it. I always thought that creepy photos were easier to do in this kind of setting and I wanted to do a better version of the hand coming out the water thing. We ended up with a lot of bug bites but it came out cool! I just wish I captured everything correctly though. Yes those are my hands and hers as well. Genuinely scared, good job Aroyia!

A project by Dopludό Collective; 2009. 20 pillows (45x45 cm each), 225x180 cm;

Why is it always so difficult to memorize the dreams that we have during the night?

They usually quickly escape out of our minds as if they were sneaking away and

hiding the traces. If we could believe that thoughts find materiality then also our dreams might have the material shape as well. Then where do they actually disappear? Might they be stored somewhere? They can visit our minds several times per night, and often they just slip by barely touching our consciousness for a short while. The work "Captured Dreams" is an allegoric attempt to visualize the idea of the existence of pillows that could capture dreams and display them. As though the latent image is revealed during the photographic procession after putting it in developing chemicals...

Handheld for 1.3 seconds. Everything that could be sharp is!

Actually what happened here was... the one on the tripod had plenty filters on and was running long exposures. Suddenly the sky came extra alive all around. So fetched the other one from the bag and began to take extra shots. More spectacular (in a way) than the carefully composed long exposures.

Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-5 / U8 non-commissioned officer Werner Oehme who lost his orientation during a night flight and made an error landing on June 20, 1943 in Manston, United Kingdom. No. 1426 (Enemy Aircraft) Flight RAF, nicknamed "the Rafwaffe", was a Royal Air Force flight formed during the Second World War to evaluate captured enemy aircraft and demonstrate their characteristics to other Allied units. Several aircraft on charge with the RAE Farnborough section were also used by this unit. The RAE facilities at Farnborough were utilised for the flight testing of German and Italian aircraft during the war.

Many crash-landed airframes were brought to Farnborough for examination, testing and cannibalisation of spare parts to keep other aircraft in serviceable condition. The main flight testing work was carried out by the Aerodynamics Flight of the Experimental Flying Department and the Wireless & Electrical Flight (W&EF), the latter responsible for evaluation and examination of radar-equipped aircraft later in the war.

Actually it's a captured, then re-captured, then un-captured, then re-captured again hideout.

My plan is to build three separate towers, one in classic castle, one in classic town (apartment block or hospital) and the last in classic space (observatory). And then display them side by side. Not sure how committed I am to the whole thing but I am keen to start the town one next.

Long exposure shot taken at Myrtle Beach under a pier just before sunset, and the lights were coming on underneath to highlight the waves! Actually, it was much darker to the eye at that moment, but the long exposure captured a lot of light, plus the flood lights were shining down on the water. It was a beautiful and enjoyable evening for us. I was able to get a few shots along our walk down the coast. The temperature was perfect and the fresh sea air was amazing! And last we ended our journey with a pit stop for seafood on a beachfront restaurant 👌👌 :)

Thanks everyone for all your support, and I appreciate the friendships I have gained since I started Flickr!!

God bless you and yours...

It was 6 degrees, -13 when factoring in the wind chill. It was still not my coldest photo taking experience of the week. I find myself enjoying the winter scenery around here more and more.
