A captured German aeroplane. It has been strapped onto a trailer. Sitting on the trailer alongside the aeroplane are five soldiers. Directly in front of the aeroplane is a canvas-topped truck. Both are parked on a muddy road, with a field directly behind.
It was important for official photographers to record the looting of German trenches, the capturing of German military vehicles and planes and other equipment, because it made for very good propaganda to print in the newspapers back home.

With the recent rainfall, the flows were enthusiastically relentless at Hindmarsh Falls near Victor Harbor in South Australia.
The current was so strong that I decided that it wouldn't be safe to cross to that rock in the center without a climbing rope as the risk of getting swept away was far too high!
Maybe another time.

I am not sure what it is about this picture that captured me. The glistening stars of color that pop in the background? The bokeh surrounding the halo leaves in the center from? The obvious narrow depth of field? Or is it the contrast of death surrounded by life and how much more beautiful life is no matter what?
